The orgy of violence and war crimes being inflicted on Iran over the past week is truly shocking. Yet it is not surprising. This is what an empire that repeatedly commits genocide does.

The U.S.-backed Israeli genocide that has been going on constantly for more than two years in Gaza is now expanding to Iran. The Trump administration is openly talking about destroying Iran and its people. Tehran and other cities across Iran are enduring carpet bombing.

“It is not only a war against Iran – it is a war against the UN Charter, against all of us, against civilization,” commented the renowned international legal expert Alfred de Zayas. His voice has resonated with the anger and disgust of billions of people around the world, including many citizens in the United States.

This is an abomination, an affront to humanity.

In a detailed legal assessment, Professor De Zayas enumerates that the U.S. and Israeli military attacks on Iran have violated multiple treaties and statutes, including the UN Charter and the Geneva Conventions.

The world is witnessing barbarism on a massive and flagrant scale. Iran is responding defiantly with the legal and moral right of self-defense.

The crimes against peace and humanity perpetrated by the U.S. and Israel are staggering in their brutality and offense against basic human morality. What is even more odious is that the crimes are being committed with an insane religious conviction that American President Donald Trump is “appointed by God.”

More sickening still is that Trump and the Western and Zionist ruling class are representative of the Epstein Class, the global elite that have been implicated in unspeakable sex crimes against children. It is consistent, albeit vile, that the Western capitalist elite who have been raping children with impunity are now massacring them with bombs, as they have been doing in Gaza. It is perverse beyond words.

The aggression against Iran has been going on for decades, with murderous economic warfare – euphemistically called “sanctions”. When the latest episode of aggression started last Saturday, February 28, American and Israeli warplanes deliberately bombed an elementary school, killing 165 children. Multiple precision strikes hit the building. Since then, several other schools have also been destroyed.

Hospitals, residential districts, and cultural sites have been methodically bombed. In six days, the death toll has surpassed 1,200 and is rapidly rising. This is a war of extermination.

Trump and his senior aides, like the maniacal Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, are reveling in the destruction.

Trump speaks like a crazed crime syndicate boss, saying that he wants to “clean out” Iran after assassinating Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a cowardly, obscene act of bombing his residence in Tehran last Saturday, murdering the spiritual leader and his family. Trump has subsequently warned that he must personally approve of any new leader acceptable to U.S. interests.

Paradoxically, the display of despicable criminality betrays a desperate weakness that spells doom for the U.S. empire.

The Empire of Lies and corruption is exposed before the eyes of the world. There is growing worldwide contempt and condemnation of the United States and its Western partners. The people of the world, including citizens in the U.S. and other Western countries, realize who the enemy of peace and morality is.

Trump’s shifting claims about why he ordered the attacks on Iran only betray and expose the cynical lies.

All U.S. wars over the decades have been carried out on the pretext of lies. Millions of people from scores of countries on every continent have perished in the charnel house of imperialist violence, their blood sacrificed for the god of capitalist greed. But what is significant now is that the lies are so transparent. The evil is no longer concealed. Even the usual Western media conformity cannot obscure the blatant criminality.

We are seeing the U.S. empire and its vassals engaging in wholesale mass murder and destruction. This was already happening in Gaza. It is now being magnified in Iran and Lebanon.

European politicians like Britain’s Starmer, France’s Macron and Germany’s Merz are acting like lieutenants in America’s fascist blitzkrieg. Their complicity is damning.

Here’s the thing, however. The Western imperialist system has dug its own grave. Trump and Israel’s madman Netanyahu have opened the gates of hell, but they cannot control what is coming. For one thing, Iran’s firepower looks like it will overwhelm the U.S. and Israeli defenses and bring the world economy to a shuddering collapse. The debt-ridden U.S. and Western economies are facing a long-overdue day of reckoning from implosion.

There is no doubt that the U.S. and Israeli military power is inflicting a maelstrom of destruction and suffering. The psychopathic arrogance of its leaders is astounding and a cause of despair for many people. But there is also a foreboding sense that this is a desperate storm before the imperial system finally collapses from its own inherent corruption.

The Zionist fanatics of the empire who fantasize about “bringing the end of times” are facing an end of sorts, but far from the twisted kind they envisage.

Iran has been planning its military strategy for decades. It is exhausting the wildly extravagant death arsenal of the U.S. empire and its Israeli attack dog. All the accumulated evil of wars and genocides that the Western system has perpetrated for decades with impunity is appearing. A day of judgment is here, and the world must decide once and for all to abolish the enemy – the Western imperialist system – and push it into its own grave.

Humanity has to realize, and is realizing, that for the world to survive in peace, the United States and its Empire of Lies must be defeated.

London calling… BBC’s shameless war propaganda of Russia starting WWIII https://strategic-culture.su/news/2026/02/27/london-calling-bbcs-shameless-war-propaganda-of-russia-starting-wwiii/ Fri, 27 Feb 2026 12:05:11 +0000 https://strategic-culture.su/?post_type=article&p=890838 The BBC’s interview with the corrupt puppet president Zelensky this week was shameless war propaganda.

Britain is taking an increasingly sinister role in fueling the NATO proxy war in Ukraine against Russia. It seems that as Uncle Sam is growing weary of the slaughter, the British butler is stepping in to take up the mantle.

A large part of that role is ramping up information warfare, or propaganda, which the British state has been a past master of over the centuries. Britain’s military is in such sad disrepair these days that it has to rely on other devices.

In our editorial last week, we looked at how Britain recently tried to poison delicate diplomatic efforts for finding a settlement to the conflict by launching far-fetched claims that Russia had assassinated the late opposition figure Alexei Navalny by injecting him with a lethal South American frog toxin. That psyops bid coincided with the second anniversary of Navalny’s death. A telltale sign is how those fleeting headlines have now vanished into oblivion.

This week, the BBC, the state-owned broadcaster, fired another salvo of propaganda, this time from an interview with Ukraine’s nominal president, Vladimir Zelensky. The interview was timed to coincide with the fourth anniversary of the eruption of hostilities in Ukraine with Russia.

“Zelensky tells BBC Putin has started WW3 and must be stopped,” was the headline.

This was not a sit-down interlocution with some low-level journalist. It was conducted by Jeremy Bowen, the BBC’s International Editor.

Zelensky was permitted to spout his slander without any pushback or questioning, which can only mean that the BBC was deliberately serving as a platform to amplify provocative messaging.

The Ukrainian leader, whose presidential mandate expired nearly two years ago and who continues to stay in power solely by martial decree (that is, dictatorship), asserted the usual NATO propaganda narrative that Ukraine is defending the whole of Europe from Russian aggression.

“Putin has already started it [World War Three]… the question is how to stop Russia because Russia wants to impose on the world a different way of life.”

At a later point in the interview, Zelensky urged the United States “to stop the Russians.”

The BBC described Zelensky as a “resilient” wartime leader carrying the burden of his nation. At no point was the former comedian-actor asked about the mounting evidence of embezzlement of Western public money among his ruling circle.

At no point did the BBC question how Ukraine was infiltrated by the CIA, MI6, and other NATO intelligence to install a NeoNazi regime in 2014 to act as a spearhead against Russia that led to the eruption of hostilities in February 2022.

Instead, the British broadcaster indulged in dignifying futile war rhetoric. Zelensky said he believed that Ukraine would win against Russia eventually and that it would reclaim all its territory back to the 1991 borders, implying even the return of Crimea.

This is tantamount to the British undermining ongoing diplomatic talks convened by the Trump administration. Russia is adamant that a peaceful settlement must involve the recognition of Crimea, Donbass, Kherson, and Zaporozhye as historic Russian territories.

In effect, the British are keeping the conflict going by portraying Russia as an evil aggressor with no just cause, and emboldening the Kiev regime to continue the reckless slaughter.

This is deja vu of the inimical intervention by then-British Prime Minister Boris Johnson in April 2022, when an early peace deal to end the conflict was scuppered by Johnson cajoling the Kiev regime to keep fighting. A weeks-long conflict became a four-year war with millions of casualties.

London’s repeated dangling of the proposal to send troops to Ukraine as part of a “coalition of the willing” is another ploy to sabotage a negotiated peace deal.

Another sinister development was the claim this week by Russian foreign intelligence that Britain and France were endeavoring to covertly ship components of nuclear weapons to Ukraine. Russian lawmakers are formally urging British, French, and German parliamentarians to investigate the grave claims. If the Kiev regime gets its hands on such weapons, then the implications are potentially catastrophic. We have already seen how this regime is prepared to bomb oil infrastructure serving Hungary and Slovakia, and shell Europe’s largest civilian nuclear power plant at Zaporozhye in desperate acts of terroristic blackmail.

While the Americans under Trump seem to realize that the proxy war in Ukraine is a dead-end, not so the British and other European warmongering, Russophobic elites. They need the war to continue because they have invested so much political capital in “justifying” the proxy war that to admit defeat now would be politically disastrous.

The British state is already facing deep inherent crises from its moribund economy and the fallout from the Epstein pedophile scandal, which has shaken the British establishment to its core. The arrest of a senior British royal and a former government minister over their alleged crimes with Epstein’s network is something that the BBC would rather play down, especially as the BBC is itself implicated in the pedophile network through former presenter and royal fixer, Jimmy Savile, as our columnist Raphael Machado noted in an article this week.

The BBC’s interview with the corrupt puppet president Zelensky this week was shameless war propaganda. A case could be made that the state broadcaster is criminally inciting aggression. If the NATO proxy conflict in Ukraine is not settled, there is a looming danger of it spiralling into a nuclear Third World War.

No wonder the Western news media and the BBC in particular are held in such contempt by the public in recent years. The “Beeb’s” advertising slogan is “the world’s most trusted news source.” That needs updating… to the “most busted” news source.

Britain is once again poisoning peace diplomacy with Russia and fueling war in Europe https://strategic-culture.su/news/2026/02/20/britain-is-once-again-poisoning-peace-diplomacy-with-russia-and-fueling-war-in-europe/ Fri, 20 Feb 2026 19:17:47 +0000 https://strategic-culture.su/?post_type=article&p=890705 Concocting propaganda is part of Britain’s toxic agenda.

For discerning observers, there was an obvious attempt this week by Britain to poison a delicate stage in peace negotiations for ending the conflict in Ukraine.

The sabotage effort was as vivid as, well, how should we put it?, as vivid as a brightly colored dart frog from the South American rainforests.

Five European governments signed a joint statement this week that dramatically claimed that Russian opposition figure Sergey Navalny was murdered two years ago in a Siberian prison by poisoning.

The scripted drama and media orchestration always betray a psychological operation intended for public consumption, which warrants the rapid prescription of healthy scepticism as an antidote.

The intergovernmental report claimed that the lethal toxin allegedly used on Navalny was “epibatidine,” which is naturally produced in the skin of the dart frog. Without any evidence, Britain and four other European governments – France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Sweden – asserted that Navalny was murdered by the Russian authorities. Oh, those evil, dastardly Russians… cue the theme music from a James Bond movie!

Moscow rejected the latest claim as “feeblemindedness of fabulists” and condemned the European governments and media for engaging in “necro-propaganda”. Russia claims that Navalny (47) died of natural causes while serving a 19-year prison sentence for extremism and corruption. He was thought to be suffering from congenital ill health and on various medications before he began his penal sentence.

The joint European government statement on Navalny’s alleged poisoning is suspect for several reasons. For a start, it provides no verifiable data on the supposed toxicological analysis or how biomedical samples were obtained two years after Navalny’s death. The timing is also suspicious, coinciding with the Munich Security Conference last weekend and the second anniversary of Navalny’s demise on February 16, 2024, suggesting that the announcement was timed to maximize media attention.

Moreover, this week saw another round of trilateral negotiations between the United States, Ukraine, and Russia on finding a political settlement to the four-year conflict in Ukraine. The talks are at a tricky stage with little traction or trust between Kiev and Moscow.

The exotic frog story seems conveniently loaded to poison the atmosphere in the negotiations.

Tellingly, it is the British government that is the main protagonist in instigating the “necro-propaganda”.

This is true to form. It was the British who confabulated the Novichok poison story about double agent Sergey Skripal in 2018, and the polonium radioactive poisoning of another former Russian spy, Alexander Litvinenko, in a hotel in London in 2006. The Sun tabloid has today dredged up the latter story on the back of the Navalny case. This all speaks of British intel-media orchestration.

In an interview for the BBC state broadcaster, Britain’s Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper claimed that the alleged poisoning of Navalny showed that the Cold War is not over and that “we need to be ready for Russian aggression continuing towards Europe.”

She said that Europe must impose more sanctions on Russia and supply more weapons to Ukraine. Hardly conducive to negotiations.

It is remarkable, too, how Britain is not a member of the European Union, yet London appears entitled to define foreign relations with Russia for the 27-member bloc.

It is also significant that the Americans did not seem to be involved in creating the latest twist in the Navalny narrative. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio appeared to be blindsided by the development, saying, “We don’t have reason to question it,” but he disclosed that the U.S. had not been involved. “These countries came to that conclusion. They coordinated that… it wasn’t our endeavor. Sometimes countries go out and do their thing based on the intelligence [sic] they gathered.”

This has all the hallmarks of Britain’s endeavor, and to be more accurate, it wasn’t based on factual intelligence. It was based on a concocted black propaganda to demonize Russia and derail the peace diplomacy.

Another significant development was that during the trilateral talks in Geneva, Britain’s National Security Advisor, Jonathan Powell, showed up unexpectedly at the venue in the Intercontinental Hotel, where he held unofficial sideline talks with the Americans and Ukrainians. Powell’s visit was unannounced by the British government. He wasn’t formally invited to attend. Why was a senior British intelligence figure hanging around a venue for private trilateral discussions?

Britain has a malicious record of sabotaging peace diplomacy in Ukraine. In April 2022, just when the Ukrainian and Russian sides had worked out an early end to the conflict that erupted in February, the then British Prime Minister Boris Johnson suddenly intervened to persuade the Kiev regime to fight on, with promises of more NATO weapons. The baleful result has been a four-year war, a slaughterhouse, with over one million Ukrainian soldiers dead and a large number of Russians.

The Trump administration wants to extricate itself from the proxy war in Ukraine against Russia. Washington seems to recognize that the gambit for “strategic defeat” of Russia is a dead-end.

Not so the Europeans, who, for various reasons, are still fixated on prosecuting the proxy war. The European political class seems to be more infected by Russophobia and is incapable of rational thinking or diplomatic engagement with Moscow.

The has-been empire that is Britain is taking a lead role in galvanizing the hostility in Europe towards Russia. It is to that end that London is the main protagonist in the so-called coalition of the willing, along with that other has-been empire, France. The proposal to deploy British and French troops to Ukraine as a “security guarantee” in the event of a peace deal is intended to act as a deal-breaker since Moscow has repeatedly stated that deployment of any NATO troops in Ukraine is unacceptable and non-negotiable.

Britain appears to be taking an increasing role in the covert mentoring of the Ukrainian regime. This week, the British Foreign Office announced the opening of a new embassy office in Lvov, in western Ukraine, which is a stronghold for anti-Russian nationalists and NATO weapons supplies. London said the new office in Lvov was to “expand the UK’s diplomatic [sic] presence in Ukraine as the two countries deepen their relationship.”

Ukraine’s former top military commander, Valery Zalushny, was appointed the ambassador to London in 2024. The “Iron General” is an admirer of Nazi figure Stepan Bandera, and is considered to be a strong contender to replace Vladimir Zelensky, no doubt under British tutelage.

Continuing the war in Europe gives the British state a political purpose and standing among the Europeans. For petty self-aggrandizement, London is exploiting Russophobia.

Concocting propaganda is part of Britain’s toxic agenda. The history of London’s incitement of wars in Europe – not least its sinister role in precipitating World Wars I and II – is consistent with the latest maneuvers to keep fueling the conflict in Ukraine.

Cosmetic cover-up of Western elite corruption and crimes is no longer possible.

The annual Munich Security Conference opens this weekend with the theme: “Under Destruction… The world has entered a period of wrecking-ball politics.”

The use of euphemism and blandishment is out in force this year as the Western elite gather in Bavaria.

However, absurdly, the conference, as usual, shies away from calling out the main source of global threat… the United States of America.

This is absurd but not surprising. Because the MSC has always been about rationalizing Western imperialist violence with the euphemistic spin of couching it as “security challenges”.

The Munich gathering is the world’s largest corporate conference on global security. It has been described variously as “Davos with guns” and “the Oscars for security policy experts”. The forum began meeting in 1963 and is dominated by Western perspectives, closely aligned with Western governments, the NATO military alliance, and think tanks like the Washington-based Atlantic Council, the London-based Chatham House, the Gates Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, and Soros’ Open Society.

Sponsors of the MSC event include Western weapons manufacturers, such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Rheinmetall, as well as Wall Street and European banks, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, and Commerzbank, and Big Tech like Microsoft and Palantir.

It is thus a conclave of Western global elites who come together in Bavaria every year to work out policies and arrangements to expedite the domination of the planet by Western capital. One might well ask: “Security for whom?”

This year, the global elites are facing acute problems arising from two sources: the fallout from the Epstein transnational pedophile network that has implicated the entire Western ruling class in systematic corruption and sordid, horrific crimes of sex trafficking children for the heinous gratification of the elite.

As with much of the Western establishment’s response to the Epstein scandal, the order of the conference will be an attempt cover it up, if it is even mentioned.

The second source of acute challenge is the descent into rampant imperialist violence by the United States. This is not merely a symptom of Donald Trump as the 47th president in the White House. The descent into barbarism has been underway for decades. It has only accelerated under Trump (a partying friend of Epstein) as the U.S. moves desperately to shore up its declining global hegemony. That desperation is motivated by the emergence of a more equitable multipolar world and the inherent failing of American-led Western capitalism. The existential struggle for preserving U.S. domination has resulted in an explosion of international violence and lawlessness, which also threatens the privileges of supposed American allies.

A survey of barbarism under Trump over the past year includes:

  • Bombing Iran and ongoing threats to annihilate the country
  • Attacking Venezuela and kidnapping its president, Nicolás Maduro
  • Seizing oil tankers from Russia and China in international waters
  • Blockading Cuba and shutting down vital public utilities
  • Continuous bombing of Somalia; at least 30 times in 2026 alone
  • Bombing Nigeria and dispatching U.S. troops there
  • Threatening aggression against Canada, Greenland, Colombia, Mexico, and Panama
  • Threatening illegal trade sanctions on numerous countries

Needless to say, these are all criminal violations of the United Nations’ Charter and international law. And yet Trump thinks he deserves a Nobel Peace Prize. The disconnect speaks of insanity. How perverse that this could all be a deliberate distraction from the association with child rapist and Mossad asset Epstein.

But the truth is, the U.S. has always ordained itself the right to violate international law and use violence for regime change and wars of conquest. This has been going on for decades. The Western allies and media have pretended that this criminal imperialism did not exist and indulged in an illusion of “rules-based order”, as the Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney candidly admitted last month at the Davos forum.

What is new is that the lawlessness of U.S. imperialism has now become transparent and not camouflaged with pretexts about “defending democracy and the free world” and other deceptions. What is new, too, is that Western allies are also being threatened in the American rush to shore up its failing global power.

Laughably, the Munich forum this year is all about trying to delicately approach the subject without spelling it out.

In the Foreword to the conference’s introductory report this year, the chairman, Wolfgang Ischinger, writes:

“The Munich Security Conference 2026 is taking place at a moment of profound uncertainty… a result of the changing role of the United States in the international system. For generations, U.S. allies were not just able to rely on American power but on a broadly shared understanding of the principles underpinning the international order. Today, this appears far less certain, raising difficult questions about the future shape of transatlantic and international cooperation.

“Given the significance of this recalibration of U.S. foreign policy, we decided that this year’s Munich Security Report should address the elephant in the room head-on… the United States’ evolving view of the international order.

Addressing the elephant in the room is exactly what the Munich conference is not doing by using euphemisms to cover up what is out-and-out U.S. imperialist violence.

In the Executive Summary of the report, the MSC authors continue:

“The world has entered a period of wrecking-ball politics.

Sweeping destruction – rather than careful reforms and policy corrections – is the order of the day. The most prominent of those who promise to free their country from the existing order’s constraints and rebuild a stronger, more prosperous nation is the current U.S. administration. As a result, more than 80 years after construction began, the U.S.-led post-1945 international order is now under destruction.”

Again, this is the sort of odious cover-up that one would expect from a forum that is sponsored by the Western capitalist elite.

The only time that the Munich conference got a taste of the truth was 19 years ago when Russian leader Vladimir Putin delivered a still-memorable speech in 2007. Putin caused uproar among the Western elite and media when he condemned the unilateral use of “hyper military force” by the United States and its lack of respect for international law, which he said was leading to chaos and destruction.

Putin said in his 2007 address:

“We see growing disregard for international law’s basic principles. One state – the United States – has overstepped its national boundaries in every sphere.

“And, of course, this is extremely dangerous. It results in the fact that no one feels safe. I want to emphasize this – no one feels safe! Because no one can feel that international law is like a stone wall that will protect them.”

Nearly two decades later, Putin’s condemnation has only grown ever more relevant to describe today’s world of unbridled U.S. barbarism. “The vampire’s ball is over,” he added in a 2024 interview with Dmitry Kiselev.

A major part of the problem has been the impunity and vassalage that Western states have afforded the empire. As with the Epstein scandal and its evil, the West has indulged to the point where the system is out of control and is a threat to all.

The Munich conference, like Davos, the G7, the Trilateral Commission, the Bilderberg Group, and other gatherings of the Western elite, is all about suppressing the truth so that there is no accountability for the crimes and sins of Western capitalism and its imperialist violence.

But a day of reckoning is coming as the obscenities of Western power become increasingly exposed.

NATO’s ‘Agent Rutte’ in blatant sabotage of Ukraine peace negotiations https://strategic-culture.su/news/2026/02/07/nato-agent-rutte-in-blatant-sabotage-of-ukraine-peace-negotiations/ Fri, 06 Feb 2026 21:19:15 +0000 https://strategic-culture.su/?post_type=article&p=890451 Agent Rutte should be in a modern-day dock. NATO chief Mark Rutte declared in a high-profile address to the Ukrainian parliament this week that alliance troops would be deployed in Ukraine immediately on signing any peace deal with Russia.

He asserted that the NATO forces would be British and French, deployed “on the land, in the air, and at sea.” He added that the coalition would have the “crucial backstop” of a U.S. security guarantee if “Russia tried to subjugate Ukraine again.”

It seems more than a coincidence that three days after Rutte spoke in the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada (parliament), there was an assassination attempt in Moscow on a top Russian general. Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev, the deputy commander of Russian military intelligence (GRU), was shot several times in the back by a gunman.

This was while delicate negotiations were being conducted in Abu Dhabi to find a peace settlement to the nearly four-year war in Ukraine. Russian delegates met with American and Ukrainian counterparts for a second round of talks this week.

Rutte’s speech in Kiev and the assassination attack in Moscow appear to be calculated moves to sabotage the negotiation efforts that the Trump administration has been pushing.

First, the NATO chief knows full well that Russia is adamant that any settlement in Ukraine will not involve the presence of NATO troops, whether they are called “peace monitors” or “coalition of the willing.” Moscow has repeatedly expressed in the clearest terms that such a contingency is out of the question and non-negotiable.

So, Rutte’s forcing the issue of deployment can only mean that the real aim is to make any agreement with Russia impossible. This is while the mealy-mouthed former Dutch prime minister was also saying that he backed efforts by Trump to end this “terrible conflict”.

“Some European Allies have announced that they will deploy troops to Ukraine after a deal is reached. Troops on the ground, jets in the air, ships on the Black Sea. The United States will be the backstop; others have vowed to support in other ways… The security guarantees are solid, and this is crucial – because we know that getting to an agreement to end this terrible war will require difficult choices,” said Rutte with double-think.

Moreover, in his latest pronouncements, Rutte dispensed with the deceptive terms of NATO forces supposedly acting as “peacekeepers”. His gung-ho rhetoric of troops “on the land, jets in the air, and ships at sea” sounded more like a stealthy plan for NATO military intervention to escalate the confrontation from a proxy one to a full-on war.

Significantly, too, Rutte declared that NATO was gearing up to increase military supplies to Ukraine. He said that an additional $15 billion was earmarked by the European members to buy weapons sourced from the U.S. He concluded his speech with the World War Two fascist slogan “Slava Ukraini!” (Glory to Ukraine!). It was a rallying call for the Kiev regime and its NeoNazi adherents to keep fighting.

As with the assassination plot on the GRU deputy commander, the objective seems to be to frustrate any negotiations to end the war. The head of the Russian security delegation in Abu Dhabi is reportedly GRU Director, Admiral Igor Kostyukov. That his deputy was shot several times in his Moscow home as talks were taking place outside the country would appear to be a calculated provocation.

The irony is that the European NATO members constantly accuse Russia of not wanting to make peace. They make the preposterous claim that Russian President Vladimir Putin is intent on conquering the rest of Europe when Ukraine is defeated. The fact is, Moscow has consistently called for a diplomatic process to resolve the root causes of the conflict (NATO’s historic expansion) and to formulate a new collective security treaty for Europe based on indivisible security for all. Russia also wants to keep the territories that are historically Russian.

It is the transatlantic axis of U.S. and European NATO hardliners who don’t want a diplomatic settlement. They want the proxy war against Russia to persist indefinitely. It was they who instigated the hostilities with the CIA-backed coup in Kiev in 2014, and, before that, with numerous color revolutions after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.

It is not clear what Trump’s agenda is. Is he an inconsequential maverick, or is the deep state pulling his chain? He talks about making peace with Russia, yet his administration is sanctioning Russia’s vital oil exports, seizing cargo ships in international waters, coercing India and other nations to halt trade with Russia, and threatening its allies like Iran, Venezuela, and Cuba. Is his Ukraine diplomacy a guise for continuing aggression in another form? Or is it muddled thinking? Moscow appears to be giving Trump the benefit of the doubt and is engaging in talks to explore a peaceful settlement in Ukraine.

That said, however, a red line for Moscow is the proposals to deploy NATO troops in Ukraine. That’s not ending root causes. It is fertilizing them.

The transatlantic imperialist nexus (the U.S. and European ruling class, the CIA and its intelligence counterparts, and the military-industrial complex) is driven by hegemonic goals. Russia, China, and the non-Western multipolar world must be contained or rolled back, as during the Cold War.

The proxy war in Ukraine demonstrated that Russia could not be strategically defeated, as the Western hegemons desired. Their next best option is to keep Ukraine militarized and to keep Russia on guard to drain its resources. It still amounts to a war agenda.

Mark Rutte’s performance this week is that of a minion for the war agenda. His every word and deed speak of deliberately inciting aggression while he duplicitously talks about supporting peace. Eight decades ago, the Nuremberg Trials defined such aggression as the “supreme crime”.

Even some mainstream European politicians have taken note of Rutte’s sinister psychology. Charles Michel, the former European Council President, said in a media interview last week: “I want to be clear, Mark Rutte is disappointing and I’m losing confidence… I’m not expecting [him] to be an American agent.”

Agent Rutte should be in a modern-day dock. He and his masters want to push the world into catastrophe.

The United States and the European Union are vehemently condemning Iran over alleged repression, while the West says nothing about the Israeli genocide in Gaza. The contradiction, of course, exposes the West’s rank hypocrisy. It also confirms that Iran is the target of a Western regime-change operation.

U.S. President Donald Trump this week repeated his threat to launch a blitzkrieg on Iran, bragging that an armada led by the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier was in place to strike. “Don’t make me do it,” warned Trump with thug-like menace.

Meanwhile, the European Union declared Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps a “foreign terrorist” organization. Given that the IRGC is a central component of Iran’s national security forces, the EU’s blacklisting is effectively designating the Iranian state as a terrorist entity. The EU’s provocation is paving the way for American aggression and all-out war, which will have devastating consequences, not least of all for Europe.

Washington and Europe are ostensibly basing their hostility towards Tehran on dubious claims that the Iranian authorities have committed systematic atrocities in repressing peaceful protesters in Iran demanding political change.

Trump has urged Iranians to keep protesting and vowed that “help is on the way.”

The European Union’s foreign affairs chief, Kaja Kallas, hailed the blacklisting of the IRGC, saying: “Repression cannot go unanswered… clear atrocities mean there must be a clear response from Europe.”

France’s Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot asserted: “We cannot have any impunity for the [alleged] crimes that have been committed.”

The Dutch top diplomat, David van Weel, added: “I think it’s important that we send the signal that the bloodshed that we’ve seen, the bestiality that has been used against protesters, cannot be tolerated.”

This all sounds noble and chivalrous of Western governments. But it is a contemptible charade, belying disingenuousness and duplicity.

For more than two years, the Israeli regime has waged a blatant genocide in Gaza. The death toll is estimated at over 71,000, with most of the victims being civilians, women, and children. The real death toll is probably well over 100,000 from bodies buried under rubble from Israeli bombardment that are not accounted for.

Far from expressing any condemnation against the Israeli regime, the United States and the European Union (with minor exceptions) have maintained an odious silence that has afforded political cover for the genocide. The Western states are complicit as a result of their shameful silence. More damning, however, is that the United States and European states, including France, Germany, and Britain, have supplied warplanes, missiles, drones, electronics, and other weaponry to fuel the slaughter.

Trump boasts about his so-called Board of Peace for Gaza and a supposed ceasefire that was claimed to have started in October. Over 500 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli military since the ceasefire travesty. Thousands of Palestinians are starving or freezing to death in windswept and flooded tents still deprived of humanitarian aid. The genocide continues under the grotesque guise of “peace”.

Trump is an “Israel First” U.S. president more than any of his predecessors, who all consistently gave the Zionist regime a license to kill and occupy. Trump’s complicity is remarkable and suggests his late pedophile friend Jeffrey Epstein furnished Israeli intelligence with lots of blackmail material on the 47th president. So, his silence over genocide is explicable.

What about the Europeans, though? Maybe there is blackmail going on, too, to buy their complicity. Nevertheless, the hypocrisy is astounding.

Why aren’t Kallas, Barrot, and the other EU foreign ministers denouncing impunity and repression by the Israeli regime? They selectively apply their morals and faux humanitarian concerns to Iran.

The two scenarios are, in any case, incomparable. One is genocide, the other is civil unrest, which the evidence shows involves foreign orchestration.

Protests began in Tehran on December 28, sparked by legitimate economic grievances. The country of over 90 million has been strangled for decades by illegal Western economic sanctions. Tellingly, the relatively small demonstrations in Tehran’s bazaars at the end of December were rapidly escalated into full-blown violent attacks in several cities. The disturbances appear to have subsided, and there have been huge counter-demonstrations involving millions of people taking to the streets to denounce the violence of what seems to be almost certainly Western-orchestrated gangs.

The Iranian authorities claim that the total deaths after four weeks of violence are about 3,100. Western media reports and governments have cited much larger figures of 6,000 and up to 17,000 deaths. The Western figures are supplied by U.S. or European-based groups, such as the Iranian Human Rights Activists in Iran (HRAI). These groups are funded by the CIA’s cut-out organization, the National Endowment for Democracy.

Israeli news media have even admitted in reports that the street violence was being directed by foreign agencies. Former CIA chief Mike Pompeo also let it slip that Mossad operatives were behind the disturbances.

The methodical type of violence and damage sustained also indicates a coup attempt. Hundreds of mosques, schools, buses, government buildings, banks, and medical facilities were attacked and destroyed by gun-wielding gangs and arsonists.

Many of the casualties were inflicted on security forces and civilian bystanders in an orgy of violence that indicates a trained cadre of agitators and terrorists. Victims were beheaded and mutilated.

The Western media have conspicuously conflated the deaths and injuries as all attributed to the Iranian security forces, who allegedly used “lethal force to repress peaceful protesters.”

This is the standard operating procedure of Western regime change: to escalate deadly civil strife to destabilize the targeted state. The Western media then reliably row in with a massive propaganda assault to valorize the orchestrated violence and to demonize the authorities.

As Iranian Professor Mohammad Marandi points out, the West’s modus operandi is to demonize foreign countries to justify regime change, and if needs be, to justify all-out military aggression.

In 1953, the same method was used by the Americans and British to overthrow the elected government of Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh. Mossadegh’s “crime” was that he nationalized the oil industry, depriving Britain of its leech-like control over Iranian natural wealth, which saw most of the population living in poverty and squalor, as vast Persian oil profits flowed into London. For the coup to succeed, millions of dollars were funneled by the CIA into Iran to whip up street gangs, and the Western media on both sides of the Atlantic dutifully painted Mossadegh as illegitimate. He was overthrown, and the Western puppet, the Shah, was installed, presiding over a brutal CIA and MI6-backed regime for 26 years until the Islamic Revolution kicked him out in 1979. Amazingly, from the point of view of chutzpah consistency, more than seven decades later, the Shah’s son, Reza Pahlavi, living in pampered exile in the U.S., is being advocated by the West to take over if the Islamic Republic collapses. Plus ca change!

The same regime-change formula has been repeated over and over in as many as 100 other countries since the Americans and British launched their post-Second World War debut covert operation in Iran in 1953, as Finian Cunningham’s new book Killing Democracy surveys. Crucially, the Western news media play an absolutely vital role in assisting this systematic criminality, as they are doing currently in Iran, and before that in Venezuela.

Only four weeks ago, Washington’s military aggression against Venezuela and the kidnapping of its president, Nicolás Maduro, by U.S. commandos was preceded by a full-court media campaign of demonization, absurdly labelling him a narcoterrorist.

Trump’s aggression towards Venezuela and now Iran is an outrageous violation of the UN Charter and international law. It marks a return to predatory imperialism. And the servile European states kowtow to this all-out predatory criminality with bogus concern about human rights.

We know their concerns are a complete sham and morally bankrupt because if there were any genuine principles, then they would not be so abject in their silence over the Israeli regime’s genocide in Gaza.

This is why Trump has been so emboldened to treat the Europeans with contempt over Greenland and other issues. If you act like a doormat, then expect to be walked on.

The old saying that a week is a long time in politics is especially true under the U.S. Presidency of Donald Trump, given his propensity for unhinged bombast, zig-zags, U-turns, vendettas, and theatrics.

So, last week, he was threatening to take over the Danish Arctic territory of Greenland by military force, if needed. Trump was also gearing up to launch an unprecedented trade war against European states that, with pipsqueak temerity, dared to support Denmark, a move that would have cratered the eight-decade-old transatlantic Western alliance.

This week, in a 70-minute rant at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Trump, seemingly magnanimously, announced that he was not going to deploy military power to subordinate European NATO “allies”. But he insisted that Greenland must be annexed under U.S. control.

In a telling quip, he said: “I don’t have to use force.” Trump is right on that score. There is no need for military coercion because the European “allies” have been exposed as a bunch of dithering vassals who were pathetically clutching their pearls for the past week out of fear and angst that Uncle Sam was slapping them.

However, when vassals appease, they only end up being abused. The American Don may have softened his contemptuous rhetoric at Davos, but there is little doubt that the expansionist ambitions to grab Greenland will be pursued, and the Europeans will be, in time, further degraded in their submission to the American overlord.

Oddly enough, for a president who boasts about flexing military muscle for imperialist aims, Trump couched his takeover of Greenland as a matter of “national security.” He is claiming that the United States needs to take control of the “big, beautiful piece of ice” to defend it from Russia and China.

He lied that it wasn’t because of Greenland’s vast mineral resources, including oil and rare-earth metals. Trump was claiming that the U.S. is the only NATO member strong enough to keep Russia and China from gaining a foothold. Beijing slammed Trump’s claims as baseless.

In an insulting and absurd remark, he likened Russia and China to how Nazi Germany tried to take Greenland from Denmark during the Second World War, and it was the U.S. that prevented that.

Only a few days before, Trump contradicted himself (not hard for him) by posting a comment deriding how Russia and China are used as “bogeymen”, that is, as false enemies.

Another anomaly was seen with Trump inviting Russia and China to join his dubious Global Board of Peace initiative, which he unveiled with much corny fanfare in Davos. Enemies for peace?

In other words, on Greenland, Trump is cynically playing the Russia and China threat as a pretext for blatantly violating the sovereignty of an ally.

Not that Denmark deserves sympathy. It is questionable how it retains any territorial right to a distant Arctic island whose people have consistently demanded independence from Copenhagen’s colonialist control.

NATO’s civilian head, Mark Rutte, the former Dutch prime minister and abject flunky, appeased Trump at Davos by offering more NATO defenses deployed to Greenland. Rutte, who previously referred to Trump as “daddy”, made the “deal” in private with Trump. No details have been made public nor even shared among other NATO members. How’s that for contempt of underlings?

Trump hailed the so-called framework agreement as a “great deal” for the United States and Europe without sharing the details. It’s believed to permit the installation of Trump’s futuristic Golden Dome missile defense system. If that goes ahead, it will heighten strategic tensions with Russia by militarizing the Arctic, not bring peace or stability. Denmark is reportedly wary that its sovereignty is being sold out in a grubby behind-closed-doors private takeover.

Hence, the transatlantic storm may have subsided somewhat for now, but the damage and mistrust that have shattered the alliance are not going to be repaired. It will only get worse because of the thug-vassal relationship unravelling.

The Canadian Prime Minister, Mark Carney, in his speech at Davos, made a shocking admission when he said that the “fiction of rules-based order” between the U.S. and its Western allies is dead.

Trump may have been appeased and placated for a while. But it’s like keeping a predator at bay by throwing pieces of meat at it. Sooner or later, the minions will be on the menu.

Only last week, Denmark and the other European states were dismissing Trump’s outlandish claims about defending the free world from Russia and China by taking control of Greenland. They knew it was a brazen land grab. Now, however, Rutte, the European NATO chief, is saying that NATO must accede to Trump’s demands to protect Greenland from the alleged threat from Russia and China.

After saying there is no such threat, now the Europeans will indulge Trump’s fantasy about Greenland, just to restrain him from overtly abusing them.

The trouble for the European and other Western allies of the United States is that they have consorted with decades of American violations of international law. They have played along with the charade of using Russia and China as enemies of convenience. This has hollowed out any claim of upholding international order and norms.

The U.S. and Europe have played the bogeyman card with regard to Ukraine. The Europeans supported Trump’s aggression against Venezuela and Iran, and they have been complicit in the U.S.-backed genocide in Gaza.

This week, while French President Emmanuel Macron was admonishing Trump to respect international order concerning Greenland, he ordered French troops to seize a Russian-linked oil tanker in neutral maritime waters. The latter act of piracy on the high seas was probably an effort by France to demonstrate its loyalty to Washington’s policy of hijacking Russian cargo ships.

Since the end of World War Two, the United States paid lip service to global law and order along with its European allies. Under Trump, there is no longer any pretense of lip service. It’s outright imperialist power for naked domination. At one point in his rambling Davos speech, Trump declared such might-is-right land grabbing as normal.

During the past eight decades of charade and lip service, the U.S. needed the Europeans as a facade of multilateralism for its stealth imperialism. Washington indulged the Europeans, Canadians, and others as “allies”. In reality, they were always vassals.

Now, in the latest historical phase of returning to flagrant imperialism and brazen power, the United States has no use for the pretense of allies. They can be slapped around for the lackeys they are. And we are seeing that with brutality.

Ironically, the European powers have a historic tendency for appeasement. The British and French appeased Nazi Germany in the 1930s with disastrous results. Today, the Europeans are appeasing the United States in its every criminal demand. That is only emboldening the U.S. to expand its outright abuse of international law, or, in other words, its descent into barbarism.

This is not merely about Trump as a maverick megalomaniac. He is but a symptom of the U.S. global empire in desperation mode to maintain its waning power as a new multipolar world potentially emerges. U.S. hegemonic ambitions are untenable, but in a desperate bid to assert itself, the world is being turned upside down and intimidated into submission.

Russia and China, among others, have repeatedly declared the paramount need to abide by international law and the principles of the UN Charter. U.S. imperialist power has no such respect. Trump has openly said so.

Total domination is the only acceptable end for U.S. imperialism. Russia and China should not have any illusion about it, even if, in the short term, Trump wants to make an expedient withdrawal deal in Ukraine, or if he invites them to join his “Bored of Peace” boondoggle.

History shows us that rampant imperialist violence ends in disaster. Under Trump, the European appeasers are inviting disaster as they indulge his bogeyman games over Greenland.

Will the U.S. and Europe go to war over Greenland? https://strategic-culture.su/news/2026/01/16/will-us-and-europe-go-to-war-over-greenland/ Fri, 16 Jan 2026 20:41:04 +0000 https://strategic-culture.su/?post_type=article&p=890067 The Europeans have formed a puny coalition of the willing to defend Greenland against the United States.

In short, the answer is No. As one media commentator remarked vividly this week, the European leaders have less backbone than a jellyfish, so all their wobbly concern about Donald Trump wanting to annex the Danish Arctic territory will amount to little in the way of an armed conflict.

There may be some theatrics as in the deployment of European troops this weekend to Greenland. There will be lots of bluster from European politicians. But at the end of the day, the vassals will be slapped into line.

However, the mere fact that there is a theoretical question is instructive of how abnormal international relations have become under the 47th president of the United States. In a crazy sort of way, that is good because it exposes the fraud and bankruptcy of the “moral West.”

For eight decades since the end of World War II, the U.S. has posed as the defender of European allies. The transatlantic alliance in the form of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization was supposed to be the cornerstone of Western democracy, peace, security, and international law.

Now, with Trump’s unalloyed ambition to annex Greenland, by military force if necessary, the whole facade of NATO is upended. The alliance is being attacked by its supposed leader, the United States.

Denmark and other European states are distraught, saying that if Trump goes ahead with his threats to “conquer Greenland,” then it is the end of NATO.

Bring it on.

This week, Danish and Greenlandic diplomats met with Trump administration officials, Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio at the White House to plead for respecting the sovereign rights of Denmark and Greenland.

Trump is having none of the diplomatic niceties. He continues to insist on taking Greenland under U.S. control, and he is not ruling out the use of military force. The American president has declared that the annexation is a matter of national security for the U.S. because, he claims, the Arctic territory is in danger of being taken by China and Russia.

China rebuked Trump for invoking it as a threat to justify his territorial acquisition.

Russia is the largest Arctic territory, and its North Sea Route is a strategically important shipping conduit between Europe and Asia. It doesn’t need Greenland.

Trump’s pretext of national security is risible. He is shamelessly playing the Russia and China “threat” card as a cover for what is simply a naked imperialist land grab. This is exactly what the Americans and Europeans hypocritically and baselessly accuse Russia and China of.

Greenland is the world’s largest non-continental island, covering an area of over 2.1 million square kilometers. That’s about three times the size of Texas. The Arctic territory is rich in oil, gas, and minerals that the United States covets for its economic future. The calculation is the same as Trump’s criminal aggression against Venezuela.

If it were merely about national security, the U.S. has an air defense base on Greenland under a historic agreement with Denmark. Trump’s disparaging talk about Denmark not being militarily strong enough to defend Greenland (with two dog sleds, he mocked) could be easily resolved by the U.S. beefing up its existing base capabilities.

So, the invocation of Russia and China as a threat is a cynical excuse by Trump to expropriate prodigious Arctic resources.

In any case, the Danish government has dismissed Trump’s concerns about the risk of Russia and China taking over Greenland.

But when you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas. Denmark and the other European lackeys have been outrageously playing the Russia threat card with regard to Europe’s security. In that way, they have helped create the bogus narrative that Trump is now using to snatch the Danish territory of Greenland.

Historically, the European Union has become an abject vassal of the United States. It has bent over backwards to appease Washington in every violation of international law and illegal aggression that the Americans have embarked on. Most recently, when Trump attacked Venezuela and kidnapped President Nicolás Maduro, the Europeans cheered instead of standing up for international law. As Trump threatens war on Iran over its attempts to quell an orchestrated regime-change assault, the Europeans are again cheering on the aggression.

Washington’s systematic and relentless violation of international law and the United Nations Charter over the decades has been enabled by Europe’s complicity or cowardly acquiescence. The impunity that this has conferred has culminated in the open contempt for international norms under the Trump presidency.

The U.S. imperial power has no respect for international law or sovereignty, as Trump arrogantly boasts. The European vassals with their jelly-like impotence are being treated with the contempt they deserve.

The Americans decided to blow up Europe’s strategic energy supplies from Russia with the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines in September 2022, bringing the European economies to their knees. And the Europeans didn’t even blink in protest. They have debased themselves even further in waging a futile proxy war in Ukraine against Russia and destroying their economies by inordinate spending on the American military racket.

No wonder then that Trump is exploiting the European weakness to the hilt by grabbing Greenland.

As our columnist Ron Ridenour has documented in several articles, one of the most abject of the European vassals is Denmark, which has done Uncle Sam’s bidding for years as an intelligence and propaganda asset. Denmark was a founding member of NATO in 1949. Copenhagen was also a Nazi quisling during WWII; its subsequent complicity with U.S. imperialism was par for the course.

So, as the American overlord turns the screws on his vassals, what are they going to do? Nothing.

This weekend, the Danes, British, French, Germans, Dutch, Norwegians, and others are sending a token number of troops to Greenland in a signal of solidarity against Trump with Operation Arctic Endurance.

How ridiculous. The Europeans have been talking for the past year about forming a coalition of the willing to deploy in Ukraine, purportedly to defend the Kiev NeoNazi regime against Russia. Now they have formed a puny coalition of the willing to defend Greenland against the United States.

All the same, there is a beneficial demonstration. The absurdity of all this is instructive in that it shows several things: the fraud that is NATO, the lawlessness and impunity of U.S. aggression, and the total moral bankruptcy of the European “allies”.

Trump’s turbo-charged rogue regime exposes pathetic European vassals https://strategic-culture.su/news/2026/01/09/trump-turbo-charged-rogue-regime-exposes-pathetic-european-vassals/ Fri, 09 Jan 2026 19:15:27 +0000 https://strategic-culture.su/?post_type=article&p=889952 In a bitterly ironic way, Trump’s reckless arrogance is to be welcomed. The international order is being trashed right in front of the world’s eyes. The United States under Donald Trump has become a full-fledged rogue state, blatantly operating on the maxim that might is right. This was always the modus operandi of the US hegemon. With Trump, it has become turbo-charged.

Any pretense of rules-based order has been jettisoned. Trump is openly bragging that there is no such thing as international law and that there are no limits on the unilateral exercise of U.S. power.

In the space of a week, the Trump regime has:

  • Launched a deadly aggression against Venezuela, kidnapped its president and commandeered the country’s vast oil wealth;
  • Seized cargo ships belonging to Russia and China in violation of maritime laws;
  • Threatened military assault on several sovereign nations, including Mexico, Colombia, and Cuba;
  • Threatened to forcibly annex the Arctic territory of Greenland, which is legally part of Denmark;
  • Escalated bombing of Somalia, the seventh country that Trump has bombed during the first year of his second terms as president;
  • Fabricated barefaced lies to excuse the extrajudicial killing of an innocent American citizen by U.S. federal agents, while warning Iran of military action if the Iranian government represses street protests, protests that many believe have been incited by American and Israeli covert agencies.

Of all the rogue conduct, arguably the worst is the multiple war crimes involved in attacking Venezuela which resulted in as many as 100 deaths. Trump’s charade of combating alleged narco-terrorism has been brazenly ditched. He is now celebrating the take over of Venezuela’s oil wealth for the benefit of U.S. Big Oil companies.

This barbarism is out-and-out imperialism with fascist arrogance. Trump has taken the world back to the early 20th century when gunboat diplomacy was openly wielded with cynical euphemism. During the 1900s, consecutive U.S. presidents routinely invaded countries in Latin America, massacring populations, installing murderous dictators, and running amok to expropriate natural resources. Trump has flagrantly touted the 1823 Monroe Doctrine as his prerogative, dictating to Venezuela and other Latin American nations to sever all ties with China and Russia.

China and Russia have vehemently condemned the United States for its aggression against Venezuela. They are warning of a global descent into chaos.

Not so the European states, who have meekly adopted a muted position or offered a snide apology for Trump’s criminal conduct. Of course, the European nations are compromised because they have assisted the U.S. aggression over many years by trying to delegitimize the Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, not recognizing his election, and by promoting Western-backed seditious figures, like Nobel laureate Maria Corina Machado.

Jeffrey Sachs, the eminent U.S. scholar of international relations, told the UN Security Council in an address this week that the issue is not what Washington and the European partners claim about the Venezuelan government, but rather the primacy of the UN Charter and respect for international law based on the inviolability of national sovereignty.

Trump’s regime has committed aggression and trashed the UN Charter with absolute contempt. The European states are complicit in this rogue state barbarism through their silence and insidious countenance.

The ridiculous irony is that the Western powers claim to be the paragons of international democracy, law and order, and moral authority. They accuse Russia, China, and others of malfeasance and malign ambitions, when in glaring reality, it is the Western states led by the top hegemon, the United States, that are making a mockery of the international order. They are hypocrites and charlatans driving the world into crisis and escalating catastrophic conflict.

Since the Second World War, and the establishment of the UN Charter in 1945, the Western powers have been playing a cynical game of duplicity and deception. While paying lip service to law and order, they have always tacitly reserved the right to subvert foreign nations with aggression and illegal wars under the guise of pretexts such as the Cold War, defending “democracy and the free world”, and so on. The Western powers were always rogue regimes who simply used the cover of virtue to perpetrate their crimes of regime change, aggression and wars of conquest.

These pseudo democratic states were always, in reality, imperialist rogues. Their audacious disguise was permitted and continues to be permitted by the Western propaganda system, otherwise known as the Western news media.

The propaganda function of the Western media is on full display over the aggression towards Venezuela. Not one of the mainstream media outlets in the U.S. or in Europe has dared to condemn the U.S. war crimes. Indeed, several of the leading American media brands, including the New York Times, Washington Post, and Wall Street Journal, have legitimized Trump’s aggression, despite it matching the Nuremberg standard for supreme criminality.

Prominent among all the travesties that are now out in the open is the evident vassalage of European states. Even when the Trump regime threatens to forcibly annex the nominal European territory of Greenland, there is minimal criticism or opposition. The European states, Denmark, Britain, Germany, France, and others are pathetic in their subservience to the American master.

In a bitterly ironic way, Trump’s reckless arrogance is to be welcomed. Because he is inadvertently exposing the Western system for what it is – a criminal imperialist regime with absolutely no respect for international law, human life, and peaceful coexistence. He has discarded the Western mask of duplicity and pretense, which at least makes it clear what the Western system is all about. What we see is something barbaric and ugly, like the fascism of former times. The Europeans are exposed for the flunkies they are. That, however, makes them dangerous because in their servitude, they are reinforcing impunity for imperialist violence.

Targeting Putin and New Year celebrations… Western war psychosis in desperation mode https://strategic-culture.su/news/2026/01/02/targeting-putin-and-new-year-celebrations-western-war-psychosis-in-desperation-mode/ Fri, 02 Jan 2026 11:37:35 +0000 https://strategic-culture.su/?post_type=article&p=889783 The sick cynicism of the NeoNazi Kiev regime and its Western sponsors knows no depth.

The sick cynicism of the NeoNazi Kiev regime and its Western sponsors knows no depth.

Earlier this week, in the early hours of December 29, Russia claimed that the NATO proxy regime had launched a large-scale drone attack aiming to assassinate President Vladimir Putin. Western political leaders and news media immediately vilified Russia for “lying” and “fabricating” the allegations as a pretext to derail diplomatic efforts for a peaceful end to the conflict.

A few days later, however, the proof was in to show who the real cynics and psychopaths are.

On New Year’s Eve, as the world was welcoming a New Year, the NATO armed and intelligence-equipped regime deliberately attacked families gathered in the Black Sea coastal village of Khorly in Kherson to hear the midnight chimes. Three drones murdered 27 civilians and injured more than 50 people after a hotel and cafe were hit with incendiary explosives. The atrocity was preceded by a reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle. There can be no doubt that this was a deliberate act of mass murder.

Hours later, on New Year’s Day, also in the Kherson region, a family car was hit by a drone, killing a five-year-old boy and seriously wounding his mother and grandparents.

There were no condemnations from Western political leaders. The Western news media hardly reported the atrocities, and the few media outlets that did report used whitewashing headlines such as “Russia says Ukrainian drone strike kills 27 in occupied Ukraine as tensions grow amid peace talks.”

The NeoNazi regime has been deliberately murdering Russian civilians for four years with American and European weapons, intelligence, and complicity. Before the conflict erupted in February 2022, the CIA-installed regime was killing ethnic Russian people in the Donbass.

Ukrainian civilians have also been killed by the Russian military during the conflict. The cardinal difference is that Russian forces do not target civilians.

The mass murder on New Year’s Eve was not random. It is a repeated vile war crime that has been witnessed against multiple Russian communities in Belgorod, Bryansk, Crimea, Donetsk, Lugansk, and elsewhere.

The silence of Western governments and media shows their moral bankruptcy, if not their criminal complicity in enabling a terrorist regime to murder Russian civilians. The Western media highlights when Russian strikes kill civilians while under-reporting or ignoring the Kiev regime’s deliberate murder of Russian civilians.

It is a profane conclusion that murdering Russian people is acceptable to the Western supporters of the Kiev regime. No expense or weaponry is spared in arming the regime. Just like its rampant corruption and Nazi affiliations are ignored, so too are its war crimes.

This regime carries out atrocities against its own people, as in the Bucha massacre in March 2022, for black propaganda against Russia and to justify the NATO proxy war. It is bombing the biggest nuclear power station in Europe at Zaporozhye with American-supplied missiles, and yet the Western media spins the absurd lies that Russia is somehow bombing the power plant that its forces are protecting.

The Nord Stream gas pipeline owned by Russia was blown up by NATO in September 2022, and yet Western governments and media accused Russia of sabotaging its own infrastructure. The Kiev regime blows up oil industries of European states, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia, and the EU leaders and media say nothing, which means countenancing acts of state terrorism.

The sick, malevolent logic of the U.S.-led NATO war machine is evident. It wanted this war with Russia for decades. The NeoNazi proxy in Ukraine was installed to facilitate the aggression with the insane objective of defeating Russia.

Now that the NATO proxy war and its objective have been all but vanquished, the Western warmongering factions want to start World War III to salvage their reckless, failed gambit in Ukraine. The hundreds of billions of dollars and euros wasted on this criminal war leave Western states exposed to financial catastrophe.

Targeting the head of a nuclear power is the NATO war psychosis in desperation mode. Murdering families celebrating the New Year is depraved beyond words. But it shows how desperate the warmongers have become.

American and European politicians have Russian blood on their hands. Russia should not trust any proffered negotiations as genuine. It is not feasible to talk or reason with Russophobic psychopaths.

U.S. President Donald Trump talks a lot about wanting peace with Russia while blowing up Venezuela, supporting genocide in Gaza, and threatening the annihilation of Iran. His country’s intelligence agencies, dollars, and weapons are murdering Russian families. If the West wants peace in Ukraine, it can do that by immediately ending the weapons and intelligence it is supplying to the NeoNazi terrorist regime. Until then, Russia reserves the right to destroy the NATO war machine.

It is customary to wish readers a Happy New Year. We refrain from such a jolly greeting in solemn respect for those who died this week.
