NATO chief Mark Rutte declared in a high-profile address to the Ukrainian parliament this week that alliance troops would be deployed in Ukraine immediately on signing any peace deal with Russia.

He asserted that the NATO forces would be British and French, deployed “on the land, in the air, and at sea.” He added that the coalition would have the “crucial backstop” of a U.S. security guarantee if “Russia tried to subjugate Ukraine again.”

It seems more than a coincidence that three days after Rutte spoke in the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada (parliament), there was an assassination attempt in Moscow on a top Russian general. Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev, the deputy commander of Russian military intelligence (GRU), was shot several times in the back by a gunman.

This was while delicate negotiations were being conducted in Abu Dhabi to find a peace settlement to the nearly four-year war in Ukraine. Russian delegates met with American and Ukrainian counterparts for a second round of talks this week.

Rutte’s speech in Kiev and the assassination attack in Moscow appear to be calculated moves to sabotage the negotiation efforts that the Trump administration has been pushing.

First, the NATO chief knows full well that Russia is adamant that any settlement in Ukraine will not involve the presence of NATO troops, whether they are called “peace monitors” or “coalition of the willing.” Moscow has repeatedly expressed in the clearest terms that such a contingency is out of the question and non-negotiable.

So, Rutte’s forcing the issue of deployment can only mean that the real aim is to make any agreement with Russia impossible. This is while the mealy-mouthed former Dutch prime minister was also saying that he backed efforts by Trump to end this “terrible conflict”.

“Some European Allies have announced that they will deploy troops to Ukraine after a deal is reached. Troops on the ground, jets in the air, ships on the Black Sea. The United States will be the backstop; others have vowed to support in other ways… The security guarantees are solid, and this is crucial – because we know that getting to an agreement to end this terrible war will require difficult choices,” said Rutte with double-think.

Moreover, in his latest pronouncements, Rutte dispensed with the deceptive terms of NATO forces supposedly acting as “peacekeepers”. His gung-ho rhetoric of troops “on the land, jets in the air, and ships at sea” sounded more like a stealthy plan for NATO military intervention to escalate the confrontation from a proxy one to a full-on war.

Significantly, too, Rutte declared that NATO was gearing up to increase military supplies to Ukraine. He said that an additional $15 billion was earmarked by the European members to buy weapons sourced from the U.S. He concluded his speech with the World War Two fascist slogan “Slava Ukraini!” (Glory to Ukraine!). It was a rallying call for the Kiev regime and its NeoNazi adherents to keep fighting.

As with the assassination plot on the GRU deputy commander, the objective seems to be to frustrate any negotiations to end the war. The head of the Russian security delegation in Abu Dhabi is reportedly GRU Director, Admiral Igor Kostyukov. That his deputy was shot several times in his Moscow home as talks were taking place outside the country would appear to be a calculated provocation.

The irony is that the European NATO members constantly accuse Russia of not wanting to make peace. They make the preposterous claim that Russian President Vladimir Putin is intent on conquering the rest of Europe when Ukraine is defeated. The fact is, Moscow has consistently called for a diplomatic process to resolve the root causes of the conflict (NATO’s historic expansion) and to formulate a new collective security treaty for Europe based on indivisible security for all. Russia also wants to keep the territories that are historically Russian.

It is the transatlantic axis of U.S. and European NATO hardliners who don’t want a diplomatic settlement. They want the proxy war against Russia to persist indefinitely. It was they who instigated the hostilities with the CIA-backed coup in Kiev in 2014, and, before that, with numerous color revolutions after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.

It is not clear what Trump’s agenda is. Is he an inconsequential maverick, or is the deep state pulling his chain? He talks about making peace with Russia, yet his administration is sanctioning Russia’s vital oil exports, seizing cargo ships in international waters, coercing India and other nations to halt trade with Russia, and threatening its allies like Iran, Venezuela, and Cuba. Is his Ukraine diplomacy a guise for continuing aggression in another form? Or is it muddled thinking? Moscow appears to be giving Trump the benefit of the doubt and is engaging in talks to explore a peaceful settlement in Ukraine.

That said, however, a red line for Moscow is the proposals to deploy NATO troops in Ukraine. That’s not ending root causes. It is fertilizing them.

The transatlantic imperialist nexus (the U.S. and European ruling class, the CIA and its intelligence counterparts, and the military-industrial complex) is driven by hegemonic goals. Russia, China, and the non-Western multipolar world must be contained or rolled back, as during the Cold War.

The proxy war in Ukraine demonstrated that Russia could not be strategically defeated, as the Western hegemons desired. Their next best option is to keep Ukraine militarized and to keep Russia on guard to drain its resources. It still amounts to a war agenda.

Mark Rutte’s performance this week is that of a minion for the war agenda. His every word and deed speak of deliberately inciting aggression while he duplicitously talks about supporting peace. Eight decades ago, the Nuremberg Trials defined such aggression as the “supreme crime”.

Even some mainstream European politicians have taken note of Rutte’s sinister psychology. Charles Michel, the former European Council President, said in a media interview last week: “I want to be clear, Mark Rutte is disappointing and I’m losing confidence… I’m not expecting [him] to be an American agent.”

Agent Rutte should be in a modern-day dock. He and his masters want to push the world into catastrophe.

Mark Rutte is not as dumb as he looks. He knows that if Zelensky is replaced, the exposure of crooked EU officials might bring down the whole project in Brussels, including NATO.

If there has ever been a twisted dichotomy of logic, it was always the West calling for bigger defence spending to prepare for a war with Russia, while in the same breath claiming that Russia was losing the war in Ukraine.

But now things are different. Not only is Russia gaining ground and certain to win the war, but there is now a string of indicators from the West that point observers toward this conclusion. The reluctance of Trump to arm the Ukrainians, the speed with which the latest proposal was put together, the failure of Europeans to agree on using Russian assets to keep the Kiev regime afloat—the list goes on. But the one thing that underlines Russia’s imminent victory is the repeated claim by EU heads of state, along with the NATO boss himself, in the press: that a war with Russia is only a matter of years away, and that EU governments need to ramp up their defence spending.

The more you hear this, you know the closer and closer Russian soldiers are to taking any number of key Ukrainian towns along the line – with an inevitable rush to take Odessa after that, many experts predict.

NATO is in a panic. Not a panic simply because its own war with Russia in Ukraine isn’t working, but more of an existential one as EU citizens struggle to heat their homes or even eat properly, many will ask their own elites why they have to suffer more for this relic of a defence organisation which is struggling more and more to define itself in modern times, but requires more and more money. The more NATO loses, the more money it needs to continue.

And it is exactly this illogical mantra that 400 million ordinary people are going to have to pay for, literally, in the coming years and decades all so that the elites who supported this grand plan can keep their jobs and their political dignity intact. It’s a massive scam, like electric cars or vaccines, whereby a narrative is pushed over and over again until that narrative becomes a fact overnight. And when this point is reached, people will no doubt accept that the superpowers want is probably in their interests while the infrastructure around them crumbles. The UK, like France and Germany, is a good example of an economy in a tailspin with inept leaders not looking for an immediate solution to fixing it, but more importantly looking to resolve their own political crisis of staying in power. Pushing out the idea that there is a new world war on the horizon could be a clever way of fooling a lot of people into believing that harder times are inevitable and so to spend on defence on a bigger scale is to be expected. Many might argue that instead of mere words, the gullible public might need something a little more concrete than the ramblings of a Dutch buffoon in a cheap suit who appears most of the time to be Trump’s performing monkey, given that all he says appears to be written by Trump’s team.

As corruption investigators move in on Zelensky and discover millions of dollars of cash, numerous passports and further evidence that corruption in Ukraine is not isolated to him and a few of his cabal but a massive, broader industry which occupies hundreds of people on all levels and that he is the queen bee in the centre of it all, it’s hard to imagine how he stays in power even to the end of the week.

For Mark Rutte and the Trump administration which he represents, the constant ludicrous claims that Russia is planning to go to war with mainland Europe needs to be repeated over and over again, along with the calls for increased defence spending by EU elites. For those EU leaders, they have to keep the Ukraine crisis alive, even though Trump and Putin seem to edge closer each day to extinguishing it. Europe needs a crisis in Ukraine to justify the scare tactics of a new threat, to justify more defence spending and making the EU a player on the international field of geopolitics. This not only gives the EU a prominence it never had, it also allows it to adopt more Orwellian measures, just as the Americans did with the Patriot Act after 9/11, while using the crisis in Ukraine as a distraction away from failing EU economies. The idea of Zelenksy being replaced is too horrific for them as not only could the “crisis” end, but he may be replaced with a more Russia-friendly figure who might rather annoyingly carry out a herculean investigation into all the looted money and arms that made up the racket which gave Zelensky the reported wealth now of score of billions in the bank. It might actually identify key figures within the EU like Ursula von der Leyen, for example, and create a crisis in Brussels which might even lead to the downfall of the project as we know it. This is the crisis.

For Rutte, who is not overburdened with intelligence even on the best day, corruption in Brussels and in Kiev is of so little significance that he doesn’t even mention it when he serves up his demented ramblings to call-centre journalists who write it up.

On December 11, details about a search of Zelensky’s chief of staff’s office were published, making it harder for Rutte to avoid. In addition to documents and electronic devices, the former head of the presidential administration had 14 million dollars in cash, data on bank transfers to offshore accounts worth 2.6 billion dollars, and an impressive stash of genuine passports in his name. Passports from Israel, the United Kingdom, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and the Bahamas in the name of Volodymyr Zelenskyy, passports from the United Kingdom, Saint Kitts, and the Bahamas in the name of Yermak himself, as well as a set of passports in the name of Mindych. These genuine passports give the most stupid pundit a clue as to who is running these people and protecting their rackets. For decades, Eurosceptics have argued that the EU’s solution to being ineffective is for it to grab more power. We’re not very good at what we do, so we need more money and power to do more of it, seemed to be the argument. But now this adage seems to apply to NATO as well, or should it be we know there is lots of corruption out there, but for us to do our jobs better, we need to allow governments to have more of it.

In this week’s news, the coalition of the willing has committed to deploying troops to Ukraine in the event of a future ceasefire. The EU has sent a delegation to Washington DC to encourage the Trump administration to take a unified position on further economic sanctions, against Russia. President Zelensky has said that only pressure will force Russia to the negotiating table. And the Secretary General of NATO has declared that it is not for Russia to decide who can and cannot join the global military alliance.

If that sounds familiar, the headlines could have been written at any time since March of 2025 when the Coalition of the Willing was formed. Remove the Coalition reference, and the headline could have been written at any time since the war started.War

The soundtrack is on repeat. Every day Ursula von der Leyen, Mark Rutte, Friedrich Merz and others wake up to hear ‘I Got You Babe’ by Sonny and Cher on their radio alarm clocks and the loop starts over again.

The key difference between real life and the 1993 cult movie classic, is that Bill Murray continually changes his daily routine to get what he wants, to win the affection of Rita, played by Andie McDowell. The only thing that doesn’t change is the ringing of the alarm clock.

In the case of the Coalition of the Willing and President Zelensky, their objective is to force President Putin to back down from his core demand in respect of the Ukraine war, that NATO obtain any sort of foothold in Ukraine. Unfortunately, unlike Bill Murray, they do the same thing day after day in the hope of a different result.

The reason this won’t work, is that Putin has now been talking about NATO enlargement since the 2007 Munich Security Conference, 18 years ago. Let’s take a look back over a shorter, eleven year horizon.

Back in 2014, just eight months into the Ukraine crisis, veteran BBC correspondent John Simpson visited Moscow where, among other things, he interviewed President Putin’s Press Spokesman, Dmitry Peskov. You can still find online, and I’d encourage you to watch it.

There are two critical passages from Peskov in his interview.

In the first, he said. ‘We’ll continue to make it much more tense, as far as our national interests are concerned. The longer our national interests will be endangered, the longer we will continue to reply. This does not mean that we want a cold war. It means we want our counterparts to understand that we have our red lines.’

The message, loud and clear, was that in the face of continued pressure to push Ukraine into NATO, President Putin would continue to respond harshly to prevent his red line being crossed.

That position has never changed in the intervening 11 years and there is not a scrap of evidence that it is likely to change.

During the Simpson interview, he goes on to say, ‘We would like to hear a 100% guarantee, that no one would think about Ukraine’s joining NATO.’

Fast forward almost eleven years, and the BBC’s Steve Rosenburg this week interviewed Peskov in the margins of President Putin’s yearly Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.

‘The main reason of the conflict was the attempt of NATO to infiltrate into Ukraine, thus endangering our country.’

Call it Kremlin talking points, historical grievances, or demands that he has no right to make. But unfortunately for Ukraine and its western backers, Putin has shown himself willing to go to war to uphold this single demand and he enjoys the domestic political support in Russia to do so. Moreover, Russia has far deeper pockets of financial and human reserves than Ukraine has, and Ukraine’s western backers have shown themselves progressively less willing to make up the difference.

In this week’s instalment of Groundhog Day, the coalition of the willing announced a commitment by 26 nations to deploy troops to Ukraine to police any postwar settlement. President Putin then responded to say that any western, read, NATO troops in Ukraine would represent ‘legitimate targets’ for Russia’s armed forces.

Anyone who believes Putin is bluffing has been living in a cave for eleven years.

In any case, the idea itself is absurd, and must be called out as such.

Ukraine has almost 900,000 active military personnel, apparently. That’s more than the combined total of active military personnel in Poland, France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom. Italy and Poland have been quite clear that they aren’t sending troops to Ukraine. Friedrich Merz, who appears in no hurry to end the war, has now ruled out sending the Bundeswehr. Britain has been sucking its teeth about sending even 10,000 troops. And there has been one big zut alors from the French, who are in the teeth of possibly their third change of government this year.

What would this reassurance force actually do, apart from encourage President Putin to keep fighting?

Foreign troops in Ukraine do not represent a vehicle to end the war, they represent a ploy to maintain the war. This may serve Zelensky’s interests and those of unhinged figures in the European system such as Kaja Kallas. But I doubt that, given the democratic choice, most European citizens would agree that a wider war between NATO and Russia was a good idea, given the risk of nuclear escalation. And not least at a time when it is far from certain that U.S. troops would deploy its conventional ground forces to support any war.

Yet fear not, the EU has deployed another delegation to Washington DC to try to get President Trump alongside in imposing further sanctions on Russia. That in itself is ironic during a week in which the Belgium Foreign Minister has effectively vetoed the handing over of Russia’s frozen assets. Amid signs of increasing concern among MAGA republicans that the Europeans are simply keen to keeping the war going, Donald Trump would be well advised not to agree.

Rather than seeking that which it will never be able to deliver – President Putin backing down from his red line of Ukraine’s NATO membership – the Coalition of the Willing needs to decide what it wants for Ukraine itself.

Stationing NATO troops in Ukraine is the antithesis of security guarantees, and battering on with sanctions will not bring Putin to the table.

Security guarantees must mean just that. Guarantees from western nations to come to Ukraine’s aid in the event of a future attack by Russia.

There is no reason to believe that a peace deal that led to Ukraine’s neutrality would result in a future war, but it is nonetheless important for the Ukrainian people to have this cast iron assurance.

Another security assurance should be clarity on when and under what terms Ukraine might join the European Union. President Putin has said he does not oppose this.

The real challenge, I suspect, is that several European nations are far from enthusiastic about Ukrainian membership. There are several reasons, including the vast cost, the impact this will have on the subsidies that existing members receive, the need for massive structural and legal change to the budgetary settlement of the EU which may encourage some members – notably France – to look for the exit, and the massive domestic political upheaval to mainstream elites.

I’ve said all this before. At times, it feels like I wake each morning at six to Sonny and Cher on repeat. As Bill Murray says in the movie, ‘there is no way this winter is going to end as long as this groundhog keeps seeing his shadow.’

When they wake up tomorrow, I’d encourage European leaders to come up with a different approach. Because going through the same loop each day will never bring peace to Ukraine.

Mark Rutte, the civilian figurehead chief of the NATO alliance, sparked viral headlines and memes this week after he referred to U.S. President Donald Trump as “daddy”.

Even Western news media were taken aback. Reporters questioned whether the former Dutch prime minister was going too far in his obsequiousness and demeaning himself. Without any shame, Rutte doubled down, ladling more compliments on Trump, and praising him for achieving what no other U.S. president has done – forcing European states to ramp up military spending.

The NATO secretary-general’s weird choice of words was not merely abject sycophancy. It was a Freudian slip revealing the sinister and abusive relationship that the United States has with its so-called allies.

At one point, the American president joked that if Rutte doesn’t like him sufficiently, he would “hit him.”

The occasion was the annual summit of the NATO military bloc, which this year was held in The Hague, Netherlands. It wasn’t just Rutte who was scraping and bowing. Most of the leaders from the 32-nation alliance were bending over backwards to appease Trump.

Trump has been relentlessly browbeating the Europeans to spend more of their economies on the military. He has scoffed at them for being “freeloaders” on American security and demanded that they increase their annual military budgets up from 2 percent of national economic output to 5 percent.

This week, the NATO alliance declared a “historic transformation” by announcing a formal commitment to reach the 5 percent target by 2035. That translates into trillions of more euros allocated to militarism, inevitably to the detriment of the civilian economy and social development, as well as inflaming geopolitical conflict.

Most of this new military expenditure will be used to purchase U.S. weapons, such as the F-35 fighter jet and Patriot air defense system, both of which are overpriced and overrated in performance. A new study published this week by the Bruegel and Kiel Institutes found that European nations are heavily dependent on the United States for the manufacture and supply of military equipment. That means that the gargantuan increase in NATO budgets will primarily benefit America’s military industry.

Another Freudian slip came from Trump himself, who said of European political leaders at the NATO summit, “these people really love their countries… it’s not a rip-off and we’re [the US] here to help them protect their countries.”

How twisted. These European politicians are betraying the peaceful interests of the European public while serving the warmongering system of US-led military capitalism. Trump’s talk of “protection” is in reality a Mafia-style protection racket, a racket that NATO has facilitated since its founding in 1949 under the guise of “defending” the “free world” against the Soviet Union.

Rutte, who was appointed as NATO chief last year, taking over from Norwegian Yes Man Jens Stoltenberg, has proven himself to be an ideal choice for intensifying the racket. The Dutch former politician is renowned for building consensus, and he has gone out of his way to court Trump’s narcissism. Rutte has deftly lobbied European states on the “need” to spend more on military, by constantly talking up the alleged threat posed by Russia. The Western media dutifully amplifies the absurd propaganda.

On the eve of the NATO summit this week, Rutte messaged Trump with gushing praise. “Mr President, Dear Donald… Europe is going to pay in a BIG way, as they should, and it will be your win.”

Having extorted more money from European taxpayers, Trump left the NATO summit with a new, happy view of the organization. He ditched his previous griping about European “freeloaders,” and he reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to the alliance’s joint defense clause. Trump even adopted the inane talk about Russia attacking other countries after Ukraine.

This is what the European lackeys and Russophobes on both sides of the Atlantic want above all else. Trump’s earlier warnings about pulling the U.S. out of the NATO alliance had unnerved the transatlantic imperialist axis. Those warnings from Trump were always empty. There is no way the U.S. would leave NATO because of its function as a multilateral cover for American imperialism. Nevertheless, Trump’s seeming contempt for the alliance had undermined its unity and the military racket.

By sucking up to Trump’s ego, the alliance appears to have regained purpose. Russophobic political leaders were praising Trump for “making NATO great again.”

For all his bullying talk and bravado, Trump seems to be a weak character who is malleable when his ego is massaged.

The European vassals groveled like never before. Apart from the promises to vastly increase spending on (U.S.) military weapons, the NATO summit was organized to hold brief meetings so as not to bore Trump, given his notorious short attention span.

He was given the indulgent privilege of staying in the Dutch royal palace as a special guest of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima. Everything about this summit was focused on pandering to Trump’s ego.

The European NATO sycophants even played down their usual soliciting of more military aid for Ukraine, knowing that this annoys Trump’s transactional obsession to cut losses over the failed proxy war against Russia. The Ukraine conflict was only a sideline issue. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky was invited to attend, but he was told to put his begging bowl away. He even donned a smart civilian suit instead of his normal cosplay military garb, which again indicated that the NATO organizers had decided to prioritize toadying up to Trump.

The joint communique issued at the end of the conference designated Russia as the top threat to international security ahead of terrorism and other dangers, which contradicts Trump’s earlier calls for improving relations with Moscow.

From NATO’s point of view, it was a successful week. Uncle Sam is now a Daddy, and the alliance has found a restored unity because the American president won trillions of dollars worth of subsidies for the U.S. military-industrial complex. The European sycophants got what they wanted, too – a U.S. president who has returned to the fold of the anti-Russia alliance.

The losers in all this unseemly business are the European public. They are being screwed by U.S.-led militarism and European elites who are pimping their civilian economies.

NATO’s global proxy wars open a second front with Israeli aggression on Iran https://strategic-culture.su/news/2025/06/13/nato-global-proxy-wars-open-second-front-with-israeli-aggression-on-iran/ Fri, 13 Jun 2025 18:16:16 +0000 https://strategic-culture.su/?post_type=article&p=885863 All NATO leaders should be prosecuted for war crimes and inciting crimes against peace.

Israel’s years-long covert aggression against Iran has now escalated into open war following a massive wave of air strikes overnight in which several Iranian cities, including the capital, Tehran, were targeted with hundreds of missiles and drones.

Several of Iran’s top military commanders have been killed, as well as dozens of civilians, according to Iranian media.

Tel Aviv is warning that the attacks will continue for weeks. U.S. President Donald Trump has gloated about “excellent” strikes and warned of more to come, although he also claimed that he advised Israel against taking military action.

The U.S. claims it did not participate but did give “exquisite” intelligence for the attack. Meanwhile, NATO is believed to have provided military support to thwart Iranian retaliatory strikes while the organization’s civilian leader, Mark Rutte, deceptively appealed for a “de-escalation”.

The Iranian leadership is vowing a painful retaliation in the coming days for Israel’s “declaration of war”.

The situation is spiraling into an all-out war in the Middle East, the dimensions of which are potentially devastating for the region and indeed the entire world.

But let’s be clear. This conflict is an unprovoked aggression by Israel and a gross violation of the UN Charter and international law. Israeli claims about “preemptive” strikes against alleged nuclear facilities are null and void. Moreover, the United States and its NATO military alliance have fully enabled the supreme criminal act of aggression.

Under the UN Charter, Iran has the legal right to retaliate in self-defense.

U.S. President Donald Trump and other leaders of NATO were informed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hours before the air strikes were launched. That means tacit consent, at the very least.

However, the involvement of the U.S. and NATO is much more sinister and far-reaching. Israel is not acting “unilaterally” as is claimed. The U.S. and its NATO allies are aiding and abetting the aggression.

Hours after the deadly strikes on Iran, Trump was bragging that Israel has the best American military equipment in the world. He cited the “death and destruction” with gangster-like blackmail, threatening Iran to sign a phony nuclear deal or face obliteration. “Iran must do a deal before there is nothing left,” he said.

Israel is a proxy for the United States and NATO against Iran in the same way that Ukraine is being used against Russia, and no doubt, some suitable proxy will be found for a near-future conflict with China.

The operation to attack Iran has the hallmarks of U.S. and NATO participation. It bears a close resemblance to the Ukrainian attack on Russia’s military airbases only two weeks ago. Israel has claimed that it infiltrated Iranian territory with multiple drone launchers to carry out the strikes on pinpointed targets across the country. The planning and execution are a replica of Ukraine’s “Operation Spiderweb” on Russia, carried out on June 1.

Both attacks inevitably mean that the United States and NATO special forces were involved. Ukraine and Israel have been closely cooperating militarily. A common linkage is NATO’s military intelligence, primarily the CIA and Britain’s MI6.

The implications are enormous and grave. The U.S.-led NATO proxy war against Russia has opened up a second front against Iran. Russia and Iran signed a strategic partnership agreement in January 2025. The potential repercussions are an all-out world war.

The broader dimensions were brazenly articulated by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. Speaking at a Chatham House forum in London this week, Rutte accused Russia of preparing to attack NATO nations within five years. With unhinged warmongering, the former Dutch premier warned that if Britain and other NATO members do not step up further militarization, they will have to “learn the Russian language” – meaning they will be conquered.

Rutte told his audience: “Russia has teamed up with China, North Korea, and Iran… Putin’s war machine is speeding up.”

He added: “Let’s not kid ourselves, we are all on the Eastern flank now. The new generation of Russian missiles travels at many times the speed of sound. The distance between European capitals is only a matter of minutes. There is no longer East or West – there is just NATO.”

This Dutch shill for war and the military-industrial complex is all but saying that NATO is on a global war footing.

Let’s indulge for a moment in NATO propaganda to highlight its utter depravity and hypocrisy.

The transatlantic alliance claims to be the world’s most successful military and security organization. This week, in yet another sickening war crime, the Israeli regime murdered starving children with sniper fire as they were desperately seeking food rations. The genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and other Occupied Territories has been going on relentlessly for nearly 20 months, aided and abetted with weapons and political and diplomatic support from Washington and NATO allies.

Yet, the Dutch shill has the gall to warn the world that Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea are the most serious threats. This man is a shameless liar and a gaslighting operative.

Rutte’s purpose in life is as flagrant as it is pathetic. He is nothing but a psychopathic warmonger who has no morals or soul. His lies are told in public with a straight face in a grotesque charade to pump economic resources into the coffers of military corporations. The murder of children has no relevance to him. Peace and security have no relevance to him, except that real peace and security would put shills like him out of business and purpose in life.

NATO is having a major summit in two weeks on June 23-24. There will be no condemnations of Israeli genocide and aggression. Pathetic puppets like Rutte will demand more military spending in NATO nations beyond their already obscene levels at the expense of democratic civilian needs. Rutte calls for more weapons to support the NeoNazi corrupt regime in Kiev to prolong the profits for the military capitalist war machine. Rutte’s job is to make a fascist organization and its terrorist proxies look respectable and acceptable.

Meanwhile, Trump talks about wanting peace in Ukraine with Russia. Trump talks a lot of nonsense, too, about not wanting nuclear war. He has also made veiled threats against Russia if it does not accept a peace deal with Ukraine in the way he wants.

This seems to be Trump’s modus operandi, as can be seen now most graphically with Iran. Do a deal my way, or face violent consequences.

The United States and NATO – its international vehicle for legalized imperialist violence – have weaponized Ukraine and Israel. The U.S.-led axis will do the same against China and North Korea and any other nation it targets for getting in its way of desired global domination.

Lamentably, the world is on the cusp of catastrophic war. This is not unprecedented. Many NATO criminal wars and covert operations have led up to this historical point and are coalescing into an all-out war on the world.

All NATO leaders should be prosecuted for war crimes and inciting crimes against peace. Certainly, one of the most odious and insidious of these criminals is Mark Rutte.

Europe has gone mad https://strategic-culture.su/news/2025/03/09/europe-has-gone-mad/ Sun, 09 Mar 2025 09:47:06 +0000 https://strategic-culture.su/?post_type=article&p=883959

The EU’s obstinacy regarding the Ukraine issue is striking and demonstrates a profound disconnect from reality. The war is lost, yet Europe appears oblivious to this fact. Instead of acknowledging defeat, EU politicians, in their deluded state, seem to be plotting a second phase of the conflict. They claim they can win this war without U.S. support, but what if they fail? Will they then beg for a ceasefire?

Let us revisit history. The Minsk 1 and 2 agreements, signed between Germany, France, Ukraine, and Russia (2014-2015), were meant to halt the fighting and grant the Donbass region some form of autonomy within Ukraine. However, Zelensky, despite his election promises of rapprochement with Russia, had other plans. He aimed to reclaim Crimea and bring the Donbass under his control, escalating the bombing campaigns. By January 2022, the bombardment of Donbass intensified, resulting in numerous civilian casualties, particularly in Donetsk.

It later emerged that the former British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, and the U.S. (under the Biden Administration) had instructed Zelensky not to make peace with Russia. We recall the negotiations in Turkey that led to the Istanbul Communiqué, which proposed that Ukraine abandon its NATO aspirations, impose military restrictions, and secure Western support in case of aggression. The talks nearly reached an agreement, with both sides considering significant concessions, but abruptly halted in May 2022. The West, uninterested in peace, sought Russia’s downfall, and the process was derailed following the alleged “false flag” incident in Bucha.

With the arrival of the new administration under the leadership of Donald Trump, efforts are underway to broker a sustainable peace treaty between Ukraine and Russia – not merely a ceasefire, but lasting peace. However, Ukraine’s stance has stalled progress. While the U.S. claims it doesn’t need Ukraine or Europe for peace, this is, of course, nonsensical. The resolution must come from Ukraine and Russia, even if the U.S. (under the Biden Administration) instigated the conflict. A peace treaty or capitulation is essential.

Yet, Europe’s elites, more brainwashed than the former Biden Administration, refuse to relent. This is the peril of selling one’s soul to America, as Europe has done for over eighty years. By allowing America to de facto occupy the continent, Europe has lost its identity. Now, abandoned by America, Europe is in shock, desperately seeking to rediscover itself.

The EU aims to prove itself as a strong, independent continent, free from American influence. However, this quest for autonomy has led Europe down a dangerous path – war. The “Re-arm Europe” plan effectively declares war on Russia, though European leaders will deny this.

They seem to have forgotten the devastation of the World Wars, where millions perished for the sake of European elites. America initially avoided involvement in World War II but eventually intervened. Could history repeat itself, with Europe provoking Russia and America forced to “liberate” Europe once more? Or will Europe free itself from the war-mongering madness gripping its politicians?

It is true that Europe has been under American occupation since World War II. America has provoked every major conflict since 1945, dragging Europe into wars in Afghanistan, Libya, Iraq, and Syria. The consequences are still evident today. Most refugees went to Europe and America literally washed its hands of it after they set the Middle East on fire

America’s current “lecturing” of Europe is not born of pity or anger. The U.S. is nearly bankrupt, grappling with drug addiction, homelessness, and crumbling infrastructure. The “America First” and “Make America Great Again” slogans reflect a desire to reclaim superpower status, even if it means reviving imperialism, colonialism, and shady deals. America is preoccupied with its own survival.

Europe has been preparing its citizens for war with Russia since at least 2022. Since the Trump Administration took office, Western media has been saturated with war rhetoric. Politicians now speak of 72-hour emergency plans  instead of 48-hour ones, hinting at impending conflict. Wealthier nations like the Netherlands are transitioning to a war economy.

While Europe’s defense capacity could manage a conflict, bureaucracy and cost constraints hinder production. A shortage of soldiers further complicates matters, yet European elites remain undeterred. However, a significant portion of the European population is unwilling to fight. In Germany, recent elections revealed widespread support for the Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), a party advocating peace with Russia. However, the elections were allegedly manipulated, and the party of Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) was demonized on social media. The incoming Bundeskanzler, Merz, swiftly approved increased defense spending, a move the new parliament would likely have rejected.

French President Macron even suggested the use of nuclear force against Russia, while other EU nations, including the Netherlands, accused Russia of sabotaging the 2014 ceasefire negotiations. The Dutch Prime Minister has allocated €3 billion to defense without proper authorization, prioritizing Ukraine over the economic stability of his own country.

But alternative media sources suggest that European citizens are unwilling to fight Russia, though mainstream media remains silent on the matter, instead discussing the reintroduction of mandatory military service. European governments are singularly focused on preparing for war with Russia, ostensibly to protect Ukraine and deter a Russian attack on Europe – a notion they know to be absurd.

Reliable information on European public sentiment toward war with Russia is scarce, as it is often blocked or suppressed. However, social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and alternative media sites indicate widespread opposition, particularly in Germany and the Netherlands.

The UK also lacks reliable data, with dissent primarily voiced on alternative and social media. The EU-aligned media exists in a war-obsessed bubble, fixated on preparing Europe and the West for conflict. The rhetoric of European politicians is both alarming and foolish. The last time Europe exhibited such madness was before World War I, when men marched to war, whistling, only to find themselves in a deadly game that claimed millions of lives. Will history repeat itself? Much of Europe’s population is aging, and new migrants may be called upon to fight. Will they be willing to die for an EU passport they may never receive?

Following the approval of the “Rearm-Europe” plan, European politicians engaged in a war-mongering frenzy, delivering bellicose speeches and revoking treaties on cluster munitions and landmines. The European elites, radicalized and out of touch, are terrifying their populations with daily doses of war rhetoric and fear-mongering about Russia. They fail to grasp the reality of war and the impossibility of defeating Russia. Many of these leaders, groomed by the World Economic Forum as “promising young leaders,” have infiltrated EU governments, bought and sold, oblivious to the fact that the game is over and war is not the answer.

The most dangerous figures are the older elites, such as Ursula von der Leyen (EU) and Mark Rutte (NATO). They are the most radicalized, unable to stop, likely embroiled in scandals and blackmail, and now blackmailing the EU and European political leaders in turn. Their recklessness threatens to plunge Europe into chaos once more.

NATO announces further militarisation of Baltic Sea https://strategic-culture.su/news/2025/01/20/nato-announces-further-militarisation-of-baltic-sea/ Mon, 20 Jan 2025 16:16:44 +0000 https://strategic-culture.su/?post_type=article&p=883038

NATO announced Tuesday a major strengthening of its military presence in the Baltic Sea, seizing as a pretext recent damage to undersea cables allegedly caused by ships associated with Russia’s “shadow fleet.” The move marks yet another step in the systematic military encircling of Russia by the US-led military alliance, which continues to back the far-right Ukrainian regime in a war aimed at inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia and subjugating its territory to semi-colonial status.

The operation, labelled “Baltic Sentry,” was unveiled following a NATO ministers meeting of member states with Baltic Sea coasts in the Finnish capital Helsinki. A statement issued after the summit underscored the aggressive character of the operation, which will involve ships, surveillance planes, air and undersea drones, and other intelligence gathering. The statement, signed by Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Sweden, declared,

We are determined to deter, detect and counter any attempts at sabotage. Any attack against our infrastructure will be met with a robust and determined response. We stand ready to attribute hostile actions committed by malign actors, as appropriate.

We welcome that NATO has launched the enhanced Vigilance Activity “Baltic Sentry” to improve situational awareness and deter hostile activities. We welcome the efforts of Allies to deploy additional assets at sea, in the air, on land and below the surface of the sea, to enhance vigilance and deterrence.

Although NATO officials indicated the operation would continue for an undisclosed period, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz commented that the initial stage would last for three months. The recently established Commander Task Force Baltic command centre in Rostock, Germany, will play a key role in overseeing the increased military activity throughout the Baltic. Scholz stressed that Germany would participate with “everything available to us in maritime operational infrastructure.”

Since Finland and Sweden joined NATO in 2023 and 2024 respectively, the Baltic Sea has effectively been turned into a NATO lake. Russia, which has used the Baltic for centuries as a key trading route and maintains a Baltic fleet, confronts hostile states on all sides of the Baltic, and can only access it from the port of St. Petersburg and the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad, located between Poland and Lithuania.

NATO’s operation aims ultimately to restrict Russia’s oil and gas trade, which is key to the Kremlin’s revenue. Just days before Baltic Sentry was announced, the Biden administration slapped new sanctions on some 180 ships believed to be part of the “shadow fleet” in another bid to curb Russian trade and undermine Moscow’s ability to fund the war in Ukraine.

The fact that the latest measures move the NATO powers ever closer to a position of outright war with Russia is acknowledged by the participants at Tuesday’s meeting. Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson recently declared that while his country is not at war, it is no longer at peace. In November, the Swedish government sent an updated version of a pamphlet, “In case of crisis or war,” to all households with advice on how to survive a military conflict. The Norwegian government sent 2.2 million copies of a similar pamphlet to all households last summer.

Speaking after Tuesday’s meeting, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said, “We can no longer think that we are in peacetime,” according to public broadcaster DR. She insisted that Denmark would contribute to “concrete military cooperation,” and insisted that 2 percent of GDP for defence spending is not enough.

NATO’s determination to wage war in pursuit of the interests of the American and European imperialist powers extends far beyond the Baltic Sea region, a fact underscored by comments made by Rutte to the European Parliament Monday. The NATO Secretary-General demanded the destruction of what remains of Europe’s social welfare programmes to pay for close to a doubling of military spending on top of the 2 percent of GDP for defence spending “floor” agreed among the NATO member states.

While Rutte insisted that these increases should be conducted in cooperation with Europe’s US ally, dominant sections of Europe’s ruling class view incoming President Donald Trump’s “America First” policies as a welcome opportunity to strengthen the European imperialist powers’ military capabilities so they can advance their interests more independently of and if necessary in opposition to Washington in the future.

At a two-day meeting of the chiefs of defence at NATO headquarters in Brussels, Rutte spoke even more bluntly, stating in his opening remarks Wednesday, “It is time to shift to a wartime mindset.”

Rutte’s assertion that Europe’s ruling class only needs “a fraction” of the funds spent on social services to fund its mad plans for world war is a flat-out lie. The reality is that what is already underway is a massive restructuring of social relations involving the subordination of all of society’s resources to the waging of imperialist war and the enrichment of the financial oligarchy.

In Germany, the EU’s largest economy, the health budget has already been cut by over half in recent years to fund major increases in military spending. But this is only the beginning. In the ongoing campaign for the federal election set for February 23, Green Party Chancellor candidate Robert Habeck is calling for Berlin to spend 3.5 percent of its GDP on defence, virtually matching Rutte’s proposal to the EU Parliament. This sum would equate to Germany spending about €150 billion per year on its military, a sum seven times greater than the federal education budget and almost as much as the €175 billion Berlin currently spends annually on all social services.

Imposing the necessary attacks on working conditions and social programmes to fund these astronomical sums is incompatible with democratic forms of rule. This is why the ruling elites in every European country, following the example of their counterparts in the United States, are systematically promoting far-right and outright fascist political parties. The Alternative for Germany, Le Pen’s National Rally in France, and the Brothers of Italy under Mussolini-admirer Giorgia Meloni are being called upon by the European bourgeoisie to serve as a battering ram against the rights of the working class. Their tasks are to eliminate the remnants of the concessions made in the period after World War II by the ruling elites to the working class in the face of revolutionary struggles, and redirect these resources to the funding of war and the bank accounts of the super-rich.

Workers across the continent must reject being made to pay for imperialist wars in the interests of the NATO powers. Only the building of an international anti-war movement armed with a socialist and internationalist programme that links the major struggles by workers against social and economic devastation with the widespread opposition to militarism in the population can stop the ruling elite’s resort to social barbarism and war.

Quanti altri soldi vogliono i guerrafondai?

Macron and Rutte, the most dangerous European lackeys https://strategic-culture.su/news/2024/12/18/macron-and-rutte-most-dangerous-european-lackeys/ Wed, 18 Dec 2024 13:43:29 +0000 https://strategic-culture.su/?post_type=article&p=882425

President-elect Donald Trump seems willing to find a peaceful resolution to the three-year war in Ukraine. The horrible irony, however, is that the conflict may be entering its most dangerous phase with only weeks before Trump moves into the White House.

The danger is heightened because of European lackeys. Tragically, it is weak and unscrupulous European politicians bending over backward to please Trump, who could ignite the proxy war against Russia into a full-blown conflagration.

Step up French President Emmanuel Macron and former Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte as Europe’s two most abject – and treacherous – politicians.

Both are posturing as “Trump whisperers” – that is, as the European figures that will work best with the new American president. Or, in other words, the two European politicians who will be most toadying and obsequious in trying to win Trump’s favor.

We saw this when Macron invited Trump to join other world leaders to attend the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris last week. The French leader posed with Trump and Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky in a separate parley – as if Macron was speaking for the whole of Europe. It seems Macron is pandering to Trump by offering European troops to bolster his peace initiative.

Days later, Macron was in Warsaw to push his idea of sending European troops as “peacekeepers” to Ukraine – if Trump manages to negotiate a much-touted peace deal between Moscow and Kiev. Macron says that Europe must be part of any settlement and not just leave it to Washington. This is aimed at ingratiating with Trump, who is always trying to transact cost savings for America.

Earlier this year, the French leader sparked controversy and alarm by calling for large numbers of NATO troops to deploy in Ukraine. Special forces from France and other members of the alliance are already in Ukraine covertly fighting against Russian forces, but Macron advocated that troop brigades deploy openly.

Such a move would turn the proxy conflict against Russia into an open war between nuclear-armed powers. When Macron announced his idea, there was push-back from other European leaders who saw it as a reckless escalation.

Now Macron is at it again, but this time calling European NATO troops “peacekeepers” who will supposedly enforce Trump’s potential peace deal.

Trump’s peace initiative for Ukraine is unlikely to gain traction despite his appointment of retired General Keith Kellogg as an envoy for the task. Trump seems to be genuinely concerned about preventing an escalation of the war. He has been scathing of the Joe Biden administration’s permission for Ukraine to launch long-range missile strikes inside Russia with American and NATO weapons.

Nevertheless, according to reports, Trump’s ideas for achieving peace are superficial and ignorant about the depth of Russia’s historic security stipulations. Moscow will not accept a “frozen conflict” as Trump’s team is proposing. The Kremlin has repeatedly stated it will continue its military operation until the NATO-Kiev regime is defeated and dismantled.

The idea of a Cold War-style partition of Ukraine with NATO troops on one side facing Russian soldiers on the other – even if they are called “peacekeepers” – is a non-starter. That would in effect mean the retrenchment of the anti-Russian Kiev regime, with all its odious Nazi affiliations, as a NATO protectorate, which would threaten Russia’s security into perpetuity. That is exactly why Russia launched its special military operation in February 2022.

Instead of achieving peace, Trump may end up exacerbating the proxy war if he insists on promoting a half-baked “resolution” that does not address the real causes of the war – NATO’s expansionism.

The danger is all the more increased because of Macron, whose creepy and craven desire is to be seen as Trump’s best European friend. The deeply unpopular French leader is unscrupulously offering European troops as a gift to please Trump’s transactional predilections.

In so doing, Macron is unleashing the gates of hell in Europe.

The other treacherous lackey in Europe is Mark Rutte who became the NATO secretary general in October.

Rutte gave his first major public speech as head of the alliance last week. It was a chilling call for war with Russia. What was particularly chilling was the cynical and deceptive claims made by the former Dutch prime minister. The speech was a lie-filled tirade accusing Russian President Vladimir Putin of “trying to crush our freedom and way of life.”

Rutte urged all European nations to spend far more on their military to get ready for war with Russia. He said that European governments were not spending enough even though they have collectively forked out an estimated total of $600 billion in additional military spending over that last decade. How much more money do warmongers want? And yet Rutte had the weird nerve in his speech to comment that “defense” (that is, war) was a moral imperative and “not like illicit drugs or pornography.” Therein speaks a war-addicted pervert.

With the sincerity of a concentration camp kapo, Rutte said Europeans need to invest more in NATO military to “defend security and democracy.” He brazenly urged cutting state spending on social welfare, pensions and public services, and redirecting funds to the military – all in the name of going to war with Russia.

In a subsequent interview for the BBC, headlined “NATO must switch to a wartime mindset, warns secretary general,” Rutte lavished praise on Trump for getting Europe to allocate more of its state finances to military spending. He said Trump was “totally right” to insist on bigger NATO budgets.

Macron and Rutte are striving to get NATO and Europe more involved in the Ukraine war because of their spineless toadying to Trump. The irony is that Trump’s instincts are to bring the conflict in Ukraine to an end, but the European lackeys are so pathetic in their servility, that they are making the danger of all-out war all the more imminent.

NAFO’s Barbarossa faces its Waterloo https://strategic-culture.su/news/2024/07/02/nafos-barbarossa-faces-its-waterloo/ Tue, 02 Jul 2024 12:35:54 +0000 https://strategic-culture.su/?post_type=article&p=879851

Let’s hope Gerasimov gives Kallas, Rutte and Barcelona bellboy Borrell no opportunity for an encore.

The purpose of this article is not so much to describe the formidable NATO armies currently pitting themselves against Russia but to look at the creeping Jesuses, who cheer on NATO’s aggression, when not bullying Russian musicians, attacking Russian embassies or denouncing Masha and the bear as the vilest of Russian propaganda.

With all that in mind, I am particularly grateful for Finian Cunnigham’s recent excellent article on how Dutch creepy crawly, Mark Rutte, has replaced that Norwegian Stoltenberg chap as NATO’s chief rubber stamp and for pointing out that Rutte and his bodyguards cycle to work, tokenistic cycling being something like a Masonic handshake with today’s current crop of eco friendly neo Nazis.

Callous Kallas

I had not previously paid much attention to Rutte, as my eyes were fixated on a number of other useful NAFO idiots, chief amongst them being Estonian war monger Kaja Kallas, whom I have previously happily sneered at here, here and here, and who has recently replaced Fawlty Towers waiter Josep Borrell as Europe’s top diplomat.

Not only does Kallas hail from a pipsqueak country with no strategic relevance, except as an American cat’s paw to be used against Belarus and Russia, but Kallas has a personal bee in her pretty bonnet about her family doing jail time during the Stalin years.

Sad as that is, American puppets holding personal grudges do not make good ambassadors, as ambassadors are supposed to practice European diplomacy, not American duplicity. That being so, Gerasimov rather than Lavrov will be her Russian medium and his message will come from the barrels of ten million guns, which will give both her and her Estonian spawning ground something to remember.

Kallas is nothing more than a jumped up NAFO loud mouth fixated on copying Jimmy Cagney in White Heat, and shouting to her departed mother Made it ma. Top of the world. The difference is that, though Cagney went out on his own in a blazing fire ball of glory, Kallas and the rest of the NAFO crew, even if they are too dumb to realise it, want to bring us all along to Hades with them.

Though critics could argue I am being a trifle unkind to Kallas, it is high time someone called this NAFO slapper and her clones out. The enemy here is not so much the NATO soldiers, who Kallas wants to merrily march off to their doom, but those like Kallas and a million others, who cynically cheer them on their way and who were long ago condemned by England’s Great War poets on the one side and, on the other, by the poignant German requiem that is Eriq Maria Remarque‘s All Quiet on the Western Front. Though much has changed since the 1918 Armistice, these cynical vultures have not. Because they are still fomenting war from their perches, these parrots must be put back in their cages.

Galloway-Morgan-Cross-Karganovic-Stuart

Consider this interview NAFO lackey Piers Morgan conducted with noted British politician George Galloway. Note that Galloway is seldom allowed say a full sentence without Morgan barging in to give his own tuppence worth on Srebrenica, Bucha and Putin, Putin, Putin. Galloway, by his own admission, is a political junkey and would be as much up to speed on Srebrenica and Bucha as are the best informed of his compatriots. In answering about Bucha, he rattles off evidence I barely recall and, even though his memory is also excellent on Srebrenica, our own Stephen Karganovic has given far fuller accounts than Galloway or, heaven help us, than Morgan could ever hope to give.

Although I have not spoken to Karganovic about his work, I have spoken at length to Robert Stuart about how his excellent piece totally exposes NATO’s false flag chemical attacks in Syria. But NATO and their lapdogs are not interested in gleaning solid reports from Karganovic or Stuart. As Morgan and his NAFO clones show, all they can do is repeatedly roar out Putin’s name and condemn anyone out of hand, who is not ready to fly to Moscow at the drop of a hat and loaf Putin in the kisser, give him a Glasgow handshake and take their chances with Putin’s scary bodyguards.

Because that is the talk of either a child or a NAFO simpleton, that brings us to the strange case of Philip Cross, an extraordinarily prolific Wikipedia editor George Galloway unmasked as a vulnerable North London idiot being used by those riff raff we previously met in the battleground of Russian culture to defame anyone and everyone in NATO’s cross hairs.

Although Glen Black and Craig Murray both wrote forensically damning indictments of Cross and his Sunday Times and Jewish Chronicle handlers, Mossad outlet Haeretz summarily dismissed all their evidence as being, of all things, anti-Semitic hogwash. Although Galloway also regards MI6’s Hope not Hate as yet another NAFO operation designed to unseat characters like him, who think genocide is not quite kosher, Mi6 have armies of these NAFO characters on the payroll.

As regards yelling Putin’s name to all and sundry, that has replaced defaming Assad as NAFO’s trump card. Whenever Galloway or anyone else makes a valid point, just squawk Putin and NATO’s umpires will award you point, game, set and match. Stupid as all that sounds, that is how NAFO’s trolls, from Morgan on the top perch down to the floozys of North London on their no less lucrative ones, cackle out their scripted arguments.

Assange-Corbyn-Daly-Wallace

When Clare Daly lost her Euro seat, she gave a very curt interview to the NAFO media, which was little more than a one fingered salute to them for treating her so shabbily, something I have previously pointed out here and here, but which the Irish Times predictably denied in what they hope is her political obituary.

In concluding her hit piece on Daly, Justine McCarthy finished by noting Daly was wearing a Free Assange t shirt, and that “the imprisoned Julian Assange, co-founder of Wikileaks, is only one of 579 journalists currently being detained around the world, the second-highest number ever recorded by the Committee to Protect Journalists”.

Although the inference here is that the journalists of the Irish Times and the Guardian are, like Assange, amongst the major victims of societal injustice, this searing piece by Jonathan Cook puts paid to that fairy story. Far from being victims, Cook spells out why NAFO outfits like the Guardian and the Irish Times are the vilest persecutors of freedom evangelists like Assange and, indeed, Jeremy Corbyn, who was amongst the very first of his supporters Assange thanked upon his Odysseus-like return to Australia.

As this English barrister shows, Corbyn and Galloway are not the only British politicians being pilloried as Putin puppets. If the media were to be believed, even Nigel Farage’s crew are on the Kremlin’s vast payroll as, apparently I am myself if Norma Costello, Ronan Tynan, Samara Levy and other NAFO gnats I have swatted are credible sources.

Sadly, they are not and nor are they really meant to be, because the bottom line is truth is not on the side of NATO’s bottom basement NAFO parrots. Once their funding dries up, those of them, who are still standing, will fly the coop to feast off their next free morsel. These monkeys should never be confused with even the humblest of organ grinders.

Kiev or Kyiv?

This is not to write these NAFO parrots off as being worthless. If they were, NATO would not fund their Easy Street existence. Their role is to amplify themes and motifs, to make it look like NATO’s war aims are the vox populi, the will of the people.

Let’s return to the banks of the Dnieper, where MI6’s BBC outlet tells us of all the brave Ukrainian LGBT units bravely fending off the homophobic Russkie hordes, and MI6’s Guardian outlet explains that we must call Kiev Kyiv to stick it to Putin, who hates such defiance.

Fair enough, but if Roma is Rome in English, Napoli is Naples, København is Copenhagen and Oporto is Porto, why should the capital of the rump Reich be treated any differently? The answer is, as I explained in my second article for this site, to submit to what passes itself off as the intellectual wing of the Azov Nazis, whose vision for the Ukrainian people remains the stagnant pool of blood it has always been. Call me queasy but appeasing Nazis always makes me see red and the Kiev/Kyiv question is central to it.

Wish as the Nazis will, the Ukrainian language has no commercial future, as Ukraine is a vassal state of NATO, where the lingua franca is (American) English. Zelensky only learned Ukrainian to keep his scam going and there is no way the Bidens and NATO’s other major money launderers are going to learn Ukrainian to keep their own scams going. When Ukraine throws in the towel, they will, true to form, be milking some other God forsaken people where Tagalog, Malay or some other Asian language is spoken.

So Kiev or NAFO’s Kviv is fine but make no mistake that Kviv is part of a much bigger NATO racket.

700,000 abducted children?

As is this business of Ukraine’s abducted children. Although NATO have used Russian claims that they evacuated almost 5 million Borderlands’ residents to safer areas within Russia to demand that Putin and some other Russians face war crimes’ charges for wantonly abducting children, that is only more NAFO hot air.

Although I previously debunked those charges, NAFO have no need to give up those smears, given how effective they are in their own parlour games. Quite simply, if these lies about kidnapped children help keep NATO’s war rackets humming, that is good and the more NAFO trolls there are, who spread that nonsense, the better as far as NATO is concerned. NATO is not concerned in the least with the welfare of Ukrainian or any other children, who are all just propaganda pieces in NAFO’s parlour room wars.

Hard War, Soft War, Live Children, Dead Children

Although I long ago also touched on the case of persecuted German peace activist Alina Lipp, who committed NATO’s cardinal crime of paying homage at the Alley of Angels shrine to the Borderlands’ children NATO massacred prior to Russia’s “unprovoked” intervention, NAFO continue to applaud NATO slaughtering children with internationally banned cluster bombs for the capital crime of playing with buckets and spades on Crimean beaches, a crime whose consequences were dealt with in this recent excellent editorial; and which was perpetrated, lest we forget, at the same time NATO proxies were slitting the throats of Orthodox priests on their high altars in Dagestan.

Although these crimes are hard to defend, NAFO’s job is to applaud those crimes, just as they applauded similar crimes in Libya, Syria and Iraq, the only difference being that they deflect by squawking about Putin, instead of Saddam, Assad or Gaddafi. All fair enough in love and war, except that the bombs, bullets and missiles invariably read US of A.

In war, innocent people always suffer

In war, innocent people always suffer. So said Yankee diplomat Raymond Seitz in reply to a query by Father John Metcalf as to why the Yankees’ Contra thugs were slaughtering his parishioners in northern Nicaragua. Harold Pinter, who was present at that exchange, included it in his superlative acceptance speech for the 2005 Nobel Prize in Literature.

In wars, innocent people always suffer. And Pinter makes clear in his speech that, in Nicaragua, as well as in “El Salvador Indonesia, Greece, Uruguay, Brazil, Paraguay, Haiti, Turkey, the Philippines, Guatemala, El Salvador, and, of course, Chile”, the cut throats of the US Defence Forces are the common denominator, just as they are now in Ukraine, Russia, Syria and a smorgasbord of other countries NATO feels are right for sundering.

Though Pinter put the case against American war crimes more eloquently than ever we could, Valery Gerasimov, the chief of general staff of the Russian Armed Forces, is in a position to express himself far more forthrightly than Pinter ever could.. Along with Russia’s former defence minister, Sergei Shoigu, he stands accused of the apparent war crime of knocking out a couple of electrical transformers in Kiev (or is it Kyiv?).

By the time this war ends, NAFO’s ICC legions will probably accuse him of many more such crimes against Ukraine’s electricity grid. That is because, as Dr Gilbert Doctorow explains in this interview with Judge Napolitano, Gerasimov and his chums think that children on Crimean beaches should no more be what NAFO deem “legitimate NATO targets” than should children in north Nicaraguan playgrounds; Gerasimov and his troops are tasked to putting an end to all that with all appropriate means available to them and, if there is a holier task than his in today’s world, I have not heard of it.

According to Pinter, “the crimes of the United States have been systematic, constant, vicious, remorseless, but very few people have actually talked about them. You have to hand it to America. It has exercised a quite clinical manipulation of power worldwide while masquerading as a force for universal good. It’s a brilliant, even witty, highly successful act of hypnosis”.

Although the eloquent Pinter goes on to congratulate the “brutal, indifferent, scornful and ruthless” US of A on how it hypnotises the world, the less eloquent Gerasimov is paid to be immune to all such wiles. And although Gerasimov, being Russian, is unlikely to win any Nobel Prizes soon, he does have his other strengths, one of which is to even the body bag count with NATO and their NAFO shoe shine boys and girls.

Gerasimov, Wikipedia tells us, was raised on tales of Russia’s Great Patriotic War where his uncle, a tank company commander, fought the usual suspects for their very existence and thereby set the marker Gerasimov and his comrades must be measured by.

Although I formerly wrote that NAFO is winning the social media war, I also wrote that “Gerasimov must finish the Ukrainian war on Russia’s terms and then he must turn his attention to Finland”.

And so it shall be. NATO and their NAFO choir boys have made a very dangerous enemy in Gerasimov and the 1.5 million men and women under his command. Having connived together to sow the wind, Gerasimov and his forces are going to make them reap the mother of all whirlwinds before other arenas like East Asia repeat the process, until NATO and their NAFO parrots stop committing their war crimes. At the heel of the hunt, things will go Gerasimov’s way, even if that means that Kallas and her cronies make the same, sorry Made it ma. Top of the world sort of exit the great Jimmy Cagney made in White Heat. And let’s hope Gerasimov gives Kallas, Rutte and Barcelona bellboy Borrell no opportunity for an encore.
